Re: USMC Woolley Pully $80! WTH?!

I routinely find 100% wool sweaters for +/- $6.00 at second hand stores. Sometimes they are surplus woolly pullys, but they're all great.

With the amount of times this group has been captured, I would think they would be concealing blades by now.

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

That crew sucks in the arson department. They wander all over town looking for the right building to burn, while running past stacks of pallets and trash that would light up real good. I said to my wife at one point, "If I was there, all of downtown would be burning by now". They didn't need the per...

Re: Fear The Walking Dead

I liked it. I thought the son's struggle to maintain sanity was well done, and I was very happy to see him pick up a weapon so early in the church. Folks in movies tend to wait too long to get strapped.

Re: Workout of the Day

I keep a few dumbbells in my locker at work, two 35s and a 50. Today I did rows with the fifty (3x20) and alternating shoulder press with the thirty-fives (3x8). Then an hour of walking laps around the apparatus floor, every fifth lap or so I did a couple laps farmer-walking the 35lbers.

Yesterday I ran in a local 5K. Did it in just over 26 minutes, my best time in a long stretch. Not bad for an old fella.

Re: Buying a House

Look at the property with a view to potential flooding. I think this would be a big concern down east. A friend once built on a "perfect" lot, just to find that it often gets floody in spring. A quick look at a topographical map shows his yard was basically a "dry" spot in a creek. Don't know how el...

Has anyone heard how this episode's ratings compare to the oscars? All I can find is "the oscars ratings sucked" and comparisons of the four lame networks (NBCBS/FOX).

Did anyone else think that Tyreese's radio flashbacks were newscasts about Rhodesia? I'll pay closer attention when I rewatch it, but that was my first impression. The timing would be about right for his childhood.

BUMP. I was just wondering if any of the newer members had any thoughts on this topic. To clarify since I last posted: having been out with the SKS, I know now that folks around here don't cut their stripper clips, they just push until five rounds are in and then pull it out. Other clarifications: m...

I have to say, as primers for wilderness survival, I loved Tom Brown's Field Guide to Nature and Survival for Children, and later on his Field Guide to Wilderness Survival. And How to Stay Alive in the Woods by Bradford Angier. I have loved Tom Brown's books as well as Bradford Angier's books. My n...

The doctor said it could be anything from a case of food poisoning where the amount of vomiting inflamed the abdominal muscles to something much more serious... I am hoping it is nothing but I am more than a little edgy right now waiting for an answer. No doubt! Here's hoping for a good result. Don...
