Re: Repackaging Freezedried meals and other things

For the purposing of repackaging freeze-dried meals (into smaller packages for storage and use) and bulk snacks into single portions, would a vac sealer and the clear bags be suitable or should I be looking at Mylar bags? Suitable, yes, but only in the short term. Most (if not all) companies that p...

I'm old(ish), I'm a lot slower than I used to be, but they're going to have to earn my scalp.

Re: Wash day: Making my own laundry soap. *Picture Heavy*

Just finished mixing my third batch , love this stuff. For those of you not committed to the no additive aspect I may have stumbled onto a useful trick. . about a third of the way into the second bucket I decided to try an experiment and added about half a bottle of Old Spice body wash to the bucke...

Re: Congrats, you just won the lottery!

Personally I would go for something like a old factory, cotton/paper mill , foundry or anything commercial that is no longer in use due to bankruptcy or loss of commercial viability, preferably something on the outskirts of a small town where it used to be the lifeblood of that town(meaning mostly ...

Close friend? A place to crash until they're ready to travel, then a few hundred bucks cash, extra clothes, a prepaid cell, and a bus ticket to where they want to go. Trusted acquaintance? Probably the same, depending on how well I know them. Vouched-for stranger? A hotel room, a ticket, some clothe...

Re: best pants?

If you guys don't have room in pants for your enormous schlongs, get a utilikilt. They are great for that. Unless you need your legs protected. They suck for that. +1. Sadly, my job specifically calls for long pants, and since I live in a redneck haven, I'd probably get run over by a Ford F-250 wit...

Do NOT buy the Sportman's guide 5.11 ripoffs. (I think they're advertised as the "tactical ripstop pants"). I don't know how they're cut or put together, but there's not enough room in the crotch area for you and your package, If you know what I mean. I think a vajayjay would have a tough time in t...

Head back home? I'm guessing you're asking in the context of some sort of PAW scenario? Really, I guess it depends on what went wrong in the first place, and what resources are available. If we're talking about getting kicked out of Mega-City One, I'm thinking death would pretty much be the only opt...

Bought an ER Shaw barrel (.920", SS, helical fluting), a Hogue overmolded stock, and 5 Ruger BX-25 mags for my 10/22.

Now I just need to get my ass out to the range to see how everything works together.

Matches. This is in my head right now because I've been helping Mom and family clean out her house in preparation for sale. Mom had a box full of matches (both book and box), some dating back to the 50's. I tried out one of the old packs that had several matches missing, and it lit. Seems that as lo...

Re: Guy at the door says he's "looking for gas" with no gas

I got the DL and called a buddy with the sheriff's dept. I said I had Joe Bum, Dl # 13211872 a That sounds like an abuse of power by the sheriff to me. A local police officer was recently fired for looking up information not related to a case he was actively working on. The scenario's a little diff...

But it would be pretty cool to own...

i still carry a 6" crowbar in my bag, along with a pair of leather gloves, ham radio, and a deck of water proof cards. those little crowbars make great door stops. Little pry bars are great but lots of folks won't carry them on account of they can be considered B&E tools. I keep cheap rubber doorst...

Pelican case, maybe?
Just go to YouTube and do a search for "PVC survival cache". There's a ton of videos that basically run through capping various sizes of PVC pipe to make waterproof containers.

I'd go the 2-7x route if you want a variable. I alway stick fixed 4x on mine, but that is just personal preference. And for most of my hunting and plinking, 4x is plenty. If you need 7x to get a good shot at a squirrel, you could be better off just waiting a bit for the closer critters to start mov...

1. See what happens when the dogs get to it. If it starts screaming my name and apologizing profusely, I have an answer.

2. If it starts eating the dogs, well, that's what the AR-10 is for.

A mechanical pencil is the way to go. I have had several of these all my working life. Not to mention a 12 pack of lead refill tubes will last you a loooooooong time. I still have a few of those plastic and paper lead tubes left over from when I was in school decades ago. A box of good mechanical p...
