Re: lighters - a basic discussion

I have about 50 full sized bic lighters in my preps. They are in a ziploc bag, stored in a tub.

Re: 200 million in path of major winter storm sweeping across US

Flooding impacts US military readiness, including (likely) that of strategic nuclear forces. http://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/26991/home-of-strategic-command-and-some-of-usafs-most-prized-aircraft-is-flooding By Sunday morning, one-third of the base was underwater, she said. About 60 structures...

Re: You're at work. Things go bad. What would you do?

I work graveyard shift in the NOC of a major local hospital system. From Midnight to 06:00 when the dayshift comes in, I'm the entirety of the IT department. I pretty much have to obey the 5th General Order unless shit's hit the fan in a way that threatens my office. Even then, I'm probably just re...

Re: The Coming Civil War

So the disgusting NZ murderer guy apparently had a goal of starting a civil war in the US by his actions. He hoped to have the 2nd Amendment repealed and start a war over gun rights. I had not thought much of 3rd party non-state actors trying to influence internal politics in the US by taking actio...

I finally got a UPS for my CPAP. It was a huge hole in my preps. Emergency power is a work-in-progress at Bunker de MP . I was having trouble with this. I found a generator that ran through the night but not very tactical. I found a CPAP that actually ran on 12v power supply used on Craigsl...

Re: The study on collapse they thought you should not read – yet

1. We know it's coming.

2. We don't do anything about it.

3. We have no one to blame but ourselves.

1+2=3.

ETA: Weather or not climate change is man-made or not does not diminish the fact that it is happening & we need to deal with it.

Fire or ice. Danger either way. I'm getting a Lil' Buddy as soon as I can. More wool blankets. It's -3F right now. This does NOT include wind chill. I'd be ok, but I worry about my cat. :(

This scenario sucks. In part, because it could easily happen.

Re: The Coming Civil War

I'm seeing more incendiary rhetoric about a coming civil war, which I can't post because of the no-politics rule. But it does seem like the level of bombast and vitriol just keeps getting cranked higher. Presidential election season has kicked off in the US. I expect high water levels of rhetoric a...
