I'm still around, let's do it.
On a semi-side note, has anyone heard of the Midwest School of Bushcraft? Are they still around? I can't find any recent information and their phone number is no good.

I wouldn't call 3 times a habbit, but I do know the ignition switch is prone to failure.. Also, these things have a habit of just shutting down and not starting again. Think massive electrical failure. I know three people who this has happened to including myself. No garage was able to fix it or eve...

Because I like 2 SUVs. They're rarer and I think they look better, in the case of the Blazer they're shorter with a better turning radius.

Re: "Best" recent gasoline engines for your BOV

I'm going to add the GM 4.3 Vortec V6 and small block 350 to the list due to their reliability, durability, and overall commonality.

You can find a 98+ Blazer 2door with an automatic transmission in the Quad Cities (Davenport, IA) area? Or a 2door Jeep Cherokee with an automatic transmission in the same area easily? I sure can't!

Re: Robarms XCR...anybody have any thoughts or experience?

Which threads are you looking at exactly? I don't see any one saying they're all bad. After searching I see some good reviews and some bad, none saying it's an apocalyptic system that will kill you if you buy it ("nothing but problems").

If the safety wasn't backwards (Beretta/CZ/etc instead of 1911) I'd be seriously attracted to that gun.

Re: The 1911

Wow great post GanaEMT, very insightful... Anyway, you'll notice a lot of differences between manufacturers, chiefly how "well put together" the gun feels (smooth, tight, rattle, etc). It's important to know that tighter isn't always better, especially in a fighting gun. What purpose do you want you...

My personal experience, no a friend of a friend bull.. I got my Romanian WASR-10, the bottom of the barrel cheap AK, front sight slightly canted, don't care. I got some Bulgarian Waffle mags, the best available by popular opinion. I got some Wolf MilSpec 7.62x39. I put some XS Big Dots on the rifle....

It runs like a raped ape, about 70% of the time it'll even feed empty brass. To be fair, I never even shot it before I worked on it. It was my first 1911 semi-build. Hammer, sear, thumb safety, sear spring all fitted, tuned, and installed by me. I also replaced the recoil, main, and firing pin sprin...
