I removed the factory front end tow hook and mounted a heavy duty recovery hook.

Re: What did you today for your BOV/how did you prepare your

I mounted a holster to the arm rest cubby in my truck. Maxped universal holster ($10) and industrial Velcro ($5). Instal time was less than 10 minutes. It's definitely not a fast draw, but it's better than having my pistol buried under a bunch of stuff.

Why did the let Dave go? I understand the issue with his resume, but his skills are legitimate.

PFD

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good (but reasonably priced) PFD geared toward rafting and kayaking? Even if you have some thoughts on what NOT to get would be helpful. Thanks.

Re: Your main folder/EDC?

I'm carrying my new ZT 0350 today. It's the largest folder I have and I was concerned it would feel to bulky or heavy in my pocket, but it's neither. It's sizable, and it rides just a little high when switched to tip up carry (which is my preference), but I'm really liking it. It has the beefiest li...

Any chance we'll get to see the book play out in a series of flashbacks as Gerry goes globe trotting to document the outbreak/find the source/plot device in the sequal?

Kershaw Cryo for me. It's a little heavy, but I love the assisted open and the blade length seems just right to me.

Ultimate Soldier Challenge

Is anyone watching this? It's a military style competition between three pairs (a pair from US special forces, international special forces, and private security contractors). They compete in a series of combat related challenges to determine a winner. It's sort of like Combat Missions (if anyone re...

Re: Day by Day Armageddon, Shattered Hourglass

I would have preferred some ambiguity with Saien. I know that would have driven some people crazy. I was bummed we didn't learn the protagonist's real name. I'd love a follow up story about the SEALS at Hotel 23. Maybe their story will be told next (fingers crossed).

Warning: Spoilers to follow. I like the third book, but not as much as the first two. There were too many characters and I never got attached to any of them. I missed the one man alone in the world feel that was present at points in the first two. The mission to China felt very truncated. I was also...

I saw an episode yesterday where some teenage kid was making weapons out of baseball bats and building fires inside if buildings with his friends. He kept talking about how he was ready to kill to protect his family and what not. Good lord, that was embarrassing.
