Re: ACU Kilt

Sadly, yes. Depending on which kilts you are looking at you have up to eight yds of wool at up to fifty bucks a yd plus the skilled labor it takes to custom fit it to the owner. The cheaper kilts are just that.

Re: Romero & Savini & ZS in St Louis Oct 25th & 26th..BE THERE!!

Hell, I was wearing a ZS shirt with my black Apoco-Kilt all that morning. I even had a ZS patch for a kilt pin with my name underneath it. Matter of fact I think Kyle introduced us the night before.

Re: Romero & Savini & ZS in St Louis Oct 25th & 26th..BE THERE!!

I have a few. My buddy from the area met me for a kilt night at the bar. As you can tell by these pics, I was a little inebriated. (OK, a lot!)

Can't resize his pics so look here (about 3/4 down)

Re: My black canvas tactical kilt <Now in Multicam!>

People wear clothes for several different reasons. Heritage, utility, to make a statement, etc. Kilts usually can convey all those things.

Re: My black canvas tactical kilt <Now in Multicam!>

Before we get ahead of ourselves here, do you even have a groin protector yet for me to use? There are different types out there so I'd prefer having the one to be used for exact fit. My buddy has a 226 I can test fit for you but I'm sure it will be fine since my 92F fits in a Maxpedition type unive...

Re: My black canvas tactical kilt <Now in Multicam!>

My current holster is a standard nylon holster on a drop strap with a leg strap. Sounds like using this holster with the kilt is asking for trouble. Yup I definitely don't want box pleats; the style of pleats that both you and UtiliKilts use are major factor in the masculine look of your kilts. I a...

Re: My black canvas tactical kilt <Now in Multicam!>

The drop leg holster thing is "tricky" to say the least. It depends a lot on how and where you where it. What kind of holster is it? If it's the type that attaches to the leg platform via bolts or screws, I can do that and allow for some adjustability. If you mean a standard Nylon with a leg strap o...

Re: My black canvas tactical kilt

Mine has a few features UK's don't. Same style of pleats but other than that not a lot in common. I have started a side business making these. You can check out my work on http://www.kiltsrock.com/forum/index.php?showforum=90.

My black canvas tactical kilt <Now in Multicam!>

Man this thing is comfortable! Some of these pics were taken by a buddy with a much better camera and some were done kinda half ass. For those that didn't see the ACU one I made, the cargo pockets are reversible/removable. BDU pocket on one side and EMT pocket on the other with a panel of loop on th...

Re: ACU Kilt

[lists a butt-ton of details] As for the price of this........ Took 3 yds of ripstop, 2 spools of thread, 1 yd each of 2" Hook and Loop, and 12 snaps and about 14 total hours to make. Labor is always the most expensive portion of kiltmaking. "IF" and that's a HUGE if, I ever sold these (and they ar...

In his defense, I did make him some matching flashes, but he said he was sooooo jonesing to try it on, it looks like he put in on straight out the box and grabbed the camera to show it off.
