Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms related)

Fail Zero BCG, backup BCG, nice 16" BA Hanson barrel and Raptor charging handle for current AR build from here , here , here , and here and cheap 22LR because cheap! Active Junky discount on the 22 puts it at under 2c per round. [ETA: Active Junky failed and did not honor the discount.] Very tempted...

Re: Thinking of a big bore AR, looking for opinions.

I can't speak to the 50 but a friend has a 450 and it is a ton of fun to shoot and has been reliable each time I've shot it.
It also seems to be more popular.
It's the direction I'd go if just looking for a fun range toy.

Thanks!

I have some friends from the Chicago area and I've twice taken a Massad Ayoob class in Kankakee Illinois.

But I have since settled in warmer Florida!

Glad to be here (ZS that is!)

Re: What are YOU currently lusting after? (firearms related)

For me that would be an AR pistol. I had a 16" AR and then built a 14.5" pinned to 16" AR and now I want shorter. So, pistol here I come! I plan to build it in the months ahead as soon as I can cobble all the parts together. Probably going with a 11.5" barrel in 5.56 and a brace of some sort. Not su...

Re: Hi from FL

Welcome aboard! When u bugged out for Irma what were u wishing u had/had more of? Good question. We're near Jacksonville and we went to my sister's place in Atlanta. We left early to avoid traffic and it worked well. We were a family of 4 plus grandma and a Yellow Lab in 2 SUVs. We had pretty much ...

Re: AR Extractors

The space available for an extractor spring in the AR-15 is very small. The original springs used were fairly weak but sufficient for the 20" barrels of the first M-16s and AR-15s. As barrels and gas systems got shorter and things started to unlock sooner and faster, more stress was placed on the ex...

Hi from FL

Hello! I came here for the cool Zombie name but decided to stick around for the great Survival Discussion! I live in Florida and bugged out when Irma came through. Staying alive is high on my priority list and the more you know the better off you are when things go south. So, I'm here to learn and h...
