Re: FORUM UPGRADE

hahaha I meant 'like 10 years ago' I havent seen 'stick it in their pooper while they turn' in years :  Hmmmm, would have been interesting to have been around during that time...or maybe not  Either way, pretty sure that sticking it up someone's arse while they are turning just sounds li...

Re: Hi guys, i have a question, please help me

Welcome! I'm not a car person (although one of my goals is to learn the basic car maintenance no one would teach me growing up) so I can't really help answer your question. What I can say is that there are a lot of great people here knowledgeable about a wide variety of things who I'm sure can share...

Just curious, is the thanks button ever coming back up? I kind of liked that versus making an entire extra post just to say thanks about their comment.

Re: i have a question, need help?

I think my top concern with buying and/or re-locating to an abandoned tuberculosis hospital/asylum for any reason is simply all the horror movie ways you would probably die after re-locating there. I mean, "A man buys and moves his family into a long abandoned asylum" sounds like a the movie synopsi...

Re: Archery and progressive lenses

I'm not sure about progressive lenses, but I know I have trouble with my periphery when shooting because of my astigmatism combined with having a prescription so high I have to get high index lenses or they would look like coke bottle bottoms. That means the side of the lenses has a pretty distinct ...

Re: Pickled Eggs & Sausage

My Dad loves pickled eggs and your recipe sounds right up his alley. To be honest, I like boiled eggs, but have always been intimidated when I would see them floating in the jar as a kid. Which is silly, because I have eaten bugs and other more intimidating foodstuffs. Maybe it is because they are r...

Re: Is the End Nigh?

As a pretty new member compared to most of you, I would still be really sad if the forum went down. I don't post a ton, mainly because I'm not very interested in guns and a lot of the everyday posting is about firearms. That being said, there are still a lot of discussions I find interesting and I e...

Re: What are you playing?

Right now the hubs and I are playing through Dragon Age Inquisition for the second time after playing through the previous games in the series a few times for different storyline variations. I love the series and really hope DA4 is actually going to come out some day and it's not just rumors. And if...

Re: Blueberries

You've mentioned you grow some in containers. What soil mixture do you use in that? I use larger containers and round out the soil with potting soil/ Peat moss 50/50. Once the bushes get too big I plant them. They can get quite large in a few years. Awesome, thanks for the info. As a crazy plant la...

Re: Near-Death Experiments in Food

I don't tend to use non-canned or dry good items past the time they are normally deemed good, but was cleaning out the fridge and found a half a loaf of pumpernickel bread. It had to have been from March because that was the last time I made Reubens. Surprisingly, it had absolutely nothing growing o...

Some of the comments..... .. "Why did they let us buy residential property, knowing it was a dangerous situation? Why did they let people build all around it?” I would just say.... "umm it is an active volcano, what did you expect? the land was cheap in Hawaii, that is why you bought it. Nev...

Chicken and Dumplings, but the kind with what are called "slicks" (puffy, doughy noodles) not the kind with biscuits on top...I would do a lot for a good bowl and it was fairly frequently my birthday meal growing up. Still is sometimes. Followed fairly closely (in no order) by an Irish Beef Stew or ...

Re: A valuable lesson in long-term food storage and rotation

As others have said, thanks for the posts. Reminds me I need to be better about rotating things out, even if I don't have huge buckets of things stashed away. As an aside, surprised no one had tried to seek out the source of the smell sooner. But maybe that's just me, I have a pretty good sense of s...

Excuse me for not looking up your favorite song. I will agree with Havoc. It's a must read for H.S. freshman so I encourage you to download a copy. Or, at least, save an electronic copy until you get free. The Elements of Style I had the privilege of sitting next to White's grand daughter in a clas...

Year after year, accidental death ranks around #3 in America for leading causes of death. Come on people, let's put an end to these accidental deaths. :/ It's all about the narrative...marketing. Nothing sells like fear and sex. Watch. Does the real data match with what you were taught? http://www....

Re: Youtube to ban videos promoting sales/manufacture of gun

So, seems a poor business choice to me no matter which side of the aisle you lean on, especially if they are not cracking down on vids of actual illegal activities. Okay, so now that my adult comment is out of the way, the first thing I thought when I read on this thread about people switching to Po...
