As much as some of us might like to disown Chicago, it's not in a different country. While they're outsiders in Milwaukee, that's an American group.

Foreign as in not from the city, not a different country.

Re: What is a bug out gun used for?

Realistic SHTF a gun is personal defense and thats it really. I mean if we hit a TEOTWAWKI then we can see a need for fighting bandits and hutting. But really in say a mass flooding or fire that forces you to evac you will never need to draw your gun and if you do probably not need to use it. Common...

Re: Flooding in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas

Any news on any fatalities? How floods not to long ag killed 7. All so what is the state doing to help rescue people? Or is the civilian fishing fleet the primary rescue fleet? Why would the government squander or refuse help? In south africa NGOs and volunteers form a big part of disasters manageme...

Re: Milwaukee Rioting

The deployment of NG is strange. It been 2 days the riot is isolated and things where calm. NG are soldiers i dont see them having a lot of training in riot control. Cant they call on more riot control cops from other towns? In the US NG soldiers get called out to assist with First Responder functi...

Re: Flooding in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas

One of the problems is that evacuees have no place to go. There is a shortage of shelter space. Superdome? Convention Center? Hasn't it been fixed yet? It does seem rather chaotic from the government side. Actually it seems downright orderly and well managed compared to 2005. Half a gener...

Re: What is a bug out gun used for?

What gun would you use in a normal ever day setting. In fact why do you need a gun. Use a pistol you comfortable with and it is your EDC. You dont want to be seen as taticool NG and cops will get nervous if you roll up with a AR15, body armour and chest rig. Maybe add somthing bigger but still compa...

Re: Milwaukee Rioting

Heard the NG has been called up? Seems a bit early for NG. All so for now it seems that the riot is taking place in the area where the Perp was shot and has not spread. http://www.mediaite.com/online/scott-walker-activates-national-guard-in-response-to-milwaukee-riots/ http://www.bizpacreview.com/20...

Re: bunker suit. yay or nay

Poor man's flash fire protection would be 100% cotton, if Nomex is too expensive for you. Additionally, I'd only wear 100% cotton under Nomex too. One of my Army flight instructors had pubic hair growing around his wrists. He told me it was a skin graft needed after he crashed in Nam. It was hot an...

Re: bunker suit. yay or nay

Bunker gear is great, to go into a working fire. The shell is typically very cut resistant and fire resistant, the liner is several layers of extremely good insulation. The problem is, insulation works both ways - the number one injury to firefighters in training or on fires is heat exhaustion and ...

I was not aware that the guys in CAR were up against autocannon or hmg's. I thought it was all small arms and gpmg's. At least that's what I heard and read. http://www.thehindu.com/multimedia/dynamic/01312/28isbs-central-_27_1312775e.jpg 23mm ZSU23-2 http://blogs.blouinnews.com/blouinbeatworld/file...

Trade item's

Other than my EDC and water the only real prep item i have is a Trade item. A value pack Baby wipes. From my bush phase in basics i know people will crave them after any SHTF event. They take up space but i plan to go to work and i have a massive dufil bag that i will load my stuff in to and walk th...
