Re: Best weapon for the zombie apocalypse?
I might also suggest the Schrade SCHF9 Extreme Survivalist Knife. I bought one a few years ago and have been absolutely thrilled with it's performance.

Re: Killing or Running
Agreed. But, for the sake of the situation, adapt. For instance, NYC phone booths are being restored now to serve as wi-fi access points. So, it's not so strange to believe that it might be a possibility. If you are searching for something more common, think about an abandoned car. No gas, but you ...

Re: How do Zombies detect the living
So basically here is my question, Do Zombies hunt for the living? If so how? Sight? Sound? Smell? All the above? Well, let's look at how humans detect movement; sight and sound are probably the big ones. That being the case, I would be inclined to think that smell was not as important as the other ...

But, for the most part, aren't most infections non transferable between species? Actually, two off the top of my head: rabies: virus, can infect most warm-blooded animals. A bite always leads to infection. Has very impressive zombie-like potential. toxoplasmosis: cellular parasite, can infect most ...

Re: How do we clean weapons after we kill a zombie?
Like, after a zombie has been killed with maybe a knife or an axe, how would we clean the weapon afterwards? I mean the tool could be used for eating or skinning, and the virus or what ever it may be would be still on the weapon. So something like clorox would kill something like that? Maybe I can ...

Re: Best weapon for the zombie apocalypse?
You are going to get really excited when you find the "quadruple freakin' sword." I like how you think. My biggest thing would be making sure that I have a weapon that is potentially interminable. Guns run out of ammo. Bows run out of arrows (or strings break). Keep a melee weapon on hand, and you'...

Re: Killing or Running
I would agree. You would have to be certain that you could keep the rotting flesh out of the door opening AS WELL AS sure that no additional shamblers show up to the party. This was where I had trouble with figuring out this scenario. Yes, I think that I would have run somewhere else rather than ta...

Re: How would your home stand up in a zombie attack?
I would like to think that my house is pretty solid. I have food rations enough for about six months, as well as land and the means to grow food in perpetuity. I am building up an apiary, I have chickens and goats. Thinking about getting a cow or two. My only issue is that I am surrounded by woods, ...

Re: Blessed weapons- guns only or ammunition too?
Having a trunk full of melee weapons and firearms blessed with a quick wave of a hand would be very economical but it might be trickier to get a priest to bless every single bullet. Lastly, ya'all figure if I donated some monies to a church one of their priests would actually do this or would they ...

Re: Killing or Running
Reaching way back in my memory here, but as I recall the doors in those phone booths actually open inwards, folding in the middle like a passenger jet's bathroom door. I'd crack it open a few inches, bracing it with my foot and allow one of the zombies to press its face up to the crack. Then I'd us...

My guess is that, in the event of an apocalypse, a gang of marauders will take them over. Checkmate.

Re: Walgreens Ceramic Knife
Not really a weapon so much as a REALLY specialized tool, but for those of you who, like me, may have wanted to play with a ceramic type knife without going broke, Walgreens has a combo-pack of ceramic knife, ceramic peeler, and a plastic slip cover for the knife. It actually makes VERY clean cuts,...

Killing or Running
Came across this scenario in a book.
Six zombies surround you in a glass phone booth. You have a small, pocket knife.
Do you try to kill? If so, how?
Or
Do you run? If so, where?

I've been in the Estwing rock pick anti Zombie camp recently, and even got a Cold Steel spike hawk today (after watching the now disappeared anti Zombie Cold Steel youtube vid). In the youtube vid the spike penetrated a dead pigs skull and rebounded out because of the wooden handle very easily. But...
