Re: Pistols as primary

There are a lot of considerations for a pistol of this type. I decided on a G34. Ammo weight is less than the other larger rounds. You can carry a lot of 9mm. The G34 takes the 33 round factory magazines. The guy who wrote about the SHTF situation in Argentina said the pistol was more important than...

Re: The usefulness of the 22 autoloder, or lack thereof.

^ I think .30carbine and .357 mag have the same case length, probably pretty similar overall lengths. Iwonder...and this is totally off topic, but the gears are turning...if a 10rnd carbine mag could be bubbafied to work in rugers 357 bolt gun. A little off topic, but the Desert Eagle magazine migh...

Re: Talk me out of a revolver

Look for a police trade in Smith or Ruger. The Model 10 would work, but a .357 cylinder and frame will just last longer and soak up more recoil, and could sling moah powah if needed. Wasn't there a specific model(s) of S&W .357's that had a different sized forcing cones? Like it was bad to run the ...

Re: Trail Gun Revisited

Both would be just fine with the right ammo.

I like the S&W M69 for this role.

Probably easier to find 44 Magnum ammo than the 10mm, at least around here.

Re: The Pirate: Ar chambered in 5.45x39

Great job. The 5.45x39 is a great round.

Be careful that you dont chamber a 5.45x39 in your 5.56x45. That is no fun.

If you shoot corrosive, use a black powder cleaner first, then clean normally.

Re: School Me on .300 Blackout

300 BLK if you are a handloader and 7.62x39 if you are not.

It will be somewhat easier to get large quantities of factory 7.62x39 ammo at a reasonable price, if that makes a difference.

Side mount and a peep replacement for the stock AK rear sight.

Re: Scout v. Hunting Rifle

The true scout was designed as a light weight all purpose rifle for out to 300 meters. If you want a longer range rifle, I would go with a Remington 700 heavy barrel .308 with a good optic.

Dont know about the MVP. I like the detachable magazine options for it.
