Re: India-Pakistan Tensions

I for one find it embarrassing the Indians were using Mig-21's for their incursion. Mig-21's came out in the 1950's. If we assume that they used the most effective (operational) attack planes for this then the Indian Air Force is a joke. To put it in context even the Syrian Airforce has better plane...

Re: What is your favorite bullpup rifle?

Steyer Aug, I always loved that gun(Diehard anyone?). I have held one but not fired one. It felt pretty good in hand and solid. I have held the Tavor and it felt kinda toy like.

Re: Tunnel Rat Poll

As the Browning takes the lead I was wondering why they didn't use dogs? I mean it takes a lot of the advantages from the enemy. A dog is gonna be way more agile in the cramped environment and it's senses are way better. If there is gunfire or the dog doesn't come back now we know what we are up aga...

Re: Worst SHTF Handgun

I just had a thought about this. Imagine a town of people who for whatever reason all bought 500 S&W revolvers and all learning to shoot them on the day of the Zed apocalypse. That might be the most dangerous town in the world with bullets flying through houses and revolvers sailing out of hands. ho...

Re: Original vs Remake of Dawn of the Dead

I like the beginning of the remake( when the s goes down) and the extra credits(Andy's gun store) from the remake more, but as a total package I like the original most. If you didn't watch the edited scenes and behind the scenes footage of the remake you missed out.

Re: Best cheap 9mm for PAW trade? Star BM 9mm for $200?

I had a Serbian 9mm Tokarev and the front sight fell off. It's not dovetailed or pinned it's just glued on. It was functional and fit the hand nice. Break down was pretty simple. All said and done I wouldn't buy another. As other's have said for a cheap gun to give to others for WROL I gotta say Hi ...

Re: What ammo to choose while in Svalbard?

Nice research Rick o Shea. . I think it's interesting that you basically have to use a milsurp. The question would be iron sights or scope. If it's anything but 7.62x54r I am probably going with Irons. The Mosin sights always seem a bit off in my experience. Any thoughts from others? I would ...

What ammo to choose while in Svalbard?

So you have to go to Svalbard Island which is North of Norway for business reasons. Since they have a lot of polar bears you are required to purchase a bolt action rifle and ammo when you get there and take it around with you. You don't know what ammo they have or even if it's just regular FMJ. You ...

Re: Considering buying an SKS, but...

What about the Remington 7400 or one of it's parent rifles the 740 and 742. It's a semi auto, 50 state legal, and can be had in calibers .243 up to 30"06. I think it held 5 rounds in the internal magazine. From what I have read the 243 and 308 versions are very reliable. The 30'06 and 270 Winchester...

Re: New Firearm Purchase (Kinda rare)

So took the old M-95 out shooting today. My impressions 1. At 100 yards with the horizontal sight up and using the base 100 scrit (sp?) range it shot surprisingly well for a 100+ year old rifle. It was just a hair to the right but vertical axis dead on. 2. The Nazi surplus ammo worked well (shot 10 ...

Re: Considering buying an SKS, but...

I have heard from many different Mini-30 owners that say it feeds American brass just fine but chokes on steel cased ammo (the cheap stuff). I have a Mini-14 and like it but for the money I would stay way from the the Mini-30.

Re: Considering buying an SKS, but...

On the parts bit, I can't say for certain as I kept mine stock, but if you add certain non original components to the gun (that's not sights, sling, scope) I believe you have to make sure you are still 922Y compliant to be legal in the US. If you add a new feature to certain aspects of the gun you h...

Re: Considering buying an SKS, but...

I own a Norinco SKS which I like a lot. The differences between it and the Yugo are lack of the grenade launcher and the different bayonet. Also I can't say if it's just my Norinco or all of them but mine holds 11 rounds in the internal magazine even if the clips are 10 rounders. The bayonet on the ...

If you want to be a bit different. I know it's not a lever gun but maybe 30-40 Krag? It was at one time considered a good Elk cartridge and the feeding mechanism is way different. I always like to pick something a little out of the box. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR4uMQV7iB...
