Re: I got the hots for an AK.

A couple months ago I was at a very high end gun store I visit when I'm out of town. I asked the guy, just b.s.ing, "hey, what do you recommend as the best AK for the money?" He handed me a CMMG Mutant. We both laughed. Build an AR47 or get a mutant until the US makers get their shit together. Or bu...

Also, Century is supposed to be releasing their new "heavy duty" AK variants. We'll see. I'm not holding my breath.

Re: I got the hots for an AK.

Moab posts good info on AKs in the "all purpose AK thread".

If I remember, from this forum as well as AKOU and YouTube, WASR are the best budget buys. Or the RH10 rifles.

My grandparents don't have internet, computer, email, or cell phones.

They just make us do all of their stuff for them if it requires that hahaha.

Does that count?

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

Anyone post about the Springfield Armory 10mm XDm yet?

All I gotta say is finally. Those rat-bad-sters teased it then released a 1911 then got all political.

I still want one. Might get the fiance to buy me it. But chances are, I will pass and stick with experimenting with .45super and .45smc

Re: Walmart recalls camp axes due to injury risk

I got one of those for my 13th birthdayany moons ago. I wonder if it is all those style axes branded under many names or just a bad batch made for Ozark Trail.

Yeah, it's not a great ax. But I still have mine somewhere.

Re: Mental health disorders rising in every country

Social media can both contribute and magnify mental illness in humans (as well as cats). It is an external stimulus that is a huge component in many people's (and cat's) lives. I've worked in mental health in various capacities so my real feelings on all this would be a little too opinionated for ZS...

Re: Guy in the middle of nowhere loses his BOV to fire?!!!

Regardless, I believe Jeep uses a lot of magnesium in the tailgates and dash area... not good for a fire Not as bad as you think (if they even do) since magnesium in bulk form is very hard to ignite, and it's doubtful they'd used it unalloyed, since pure magnesium corrodes readily in the presence o...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

What's wrong with those? - Rear ghost ring does not lock - Both sights built to loose tolerances allowing them to move around and nto lock in to place - No gradients or clicks on rear sight - Pot metal construction - Uses single non-locking hex screw to mount to rail I'd say they are great for airs...

Re: Dog bed/sleeping bag.

I was gonna order one for a trial but that price is nuts!! $150-200 depending on size. My beagle would probably try to eat it too. Would be great for backpackers though (who it is marketed for), but for everyday vehicle camping it might be too spendy. Note: But recently it seems I've been posting ab...

What I do not understand is where/how he got freshwater. That and the need to build a cooking fire.
The articles I read say that they don't know how he got water. And he was using raft pieces for fire fuel.

Crazy... It reminds me of my Raft Builder crafting Ipad game but in real life...

I run MBUS or Amazon cheapo Fieldsport "branded" chinese sights. They are for backup and work as needed. Of course, I'm cheap and find the Knights-sights to be priced according to name. I highly recommend MBUS, plastic and all. You can always bedazzle them to add some Gucci flare to impress the fell...

Re: Glock barrels question.

Yeah but bare stainless looks sexy on a black Glock.... Sexy doesn't last as well and this is a PAW gun anyway. I've never had a problem with either stainless or nitride. But, nitride exposes the stainless after a couple range trips so it will need a light oil regardless This isn't just coloring, i...

I'm surprised to see this is a JK and not a new JL as the new JL wranglers seem to be catching fire quite often.

Depends on the type of Apoc... If there's a rapture like scenario where everyone disappears, that's where I'm going first. Then to the Lexus dealership. Then to helicopter store. Ummm... Can you actually fly a helicopter? Trial and error, its not like he needs a license at that point. Well, I'm ask...

My fiance is buying me an engagement present

My fiance is buying me an engagement present. I spent money on a ring so I get a gun.

I'm thinking M9a1 for a future classic. Or maybe something useful like a Glock or M&P2.0.

Or wildcard it.

Let's chat about it.

I read an article out NC flooding and how the pig farms will contaminate the waters for a bajillion miles due to dead pigs and fecal matter.

So even playing in the water without journeying is a nasty nasty endeavor.

Re: How Close Are We to Another Financial Crisis?

It's easier and safer to predict a collapse than say there won't be one.

I can also predict that there will be some natural disasters next year. I'd be a loon if I said there would be an absence of disasters.

It's like type I vs type II errors in research...
