stealth/evasion

OK so sometimes it's necessary to evade rather than to confront. Let's look at that situation. Say you're injured, or otherwise unable to engage in a combative situation. You need to get away, but you have just enough time to do something to slow your pursuer down (or you're able to do something as ...

Re: Trade: new style for old style

cash, or trade for items on that list or others similar. The violin, by the way, comes with a case (canvas over wood I think, with fitted inside, zippers, velcro zipper cover, carry handle and "backpack" straps, velcro strap for violin neck, turn clips for 2 bows, and a compartment above the head fo...

Trade: new style for old style

I have some military type gear, including a field jacket, ALICE pack, old WWII(?) Coleman stove, OD green watch cap, 9W combat boots, ski mask-ish thing (looks like it might go over a gas mask?), entrenching tool, 2 man tent (halves, with poles and stakes), very nice winter biker gloves, canteen wit...

add this to hunting and gathering, and you could be all set! And best to get the seeds soon - there are current government funded projects for engineering non-seeding plants - just imagine what possibilities THAT implies. (USA only at the moment, as far as I know - there was a rejection of the proje...

yup... aint it beautiful? I think I can deal with 200gal per year - probably enough for me. Or is it... Currently I don't live in South Dakota, but that is the only state I actually looked up the law while I was living there. Probably more restrictive here in Washington. Another alternative ...

I'm not sure about other states, but I know for a fact that in the state of South Dakota it is legal to distill 200 gallons per year of human-consumable alcohol for your own use, provided you don't sell it. It's the selling that you need the license for. So if anyone happens to live in South Dakota,...

This is a great idea! Can't believe I never thought of it, after working in construction... this'll solve my problem of always having those flimsy walmart tarps that tear easily. I don't know how many times I've been sleeping on the ground, and I tear a tarp I'm laying on top of to keep off the wet ...

About a year ago I watched an episode of CSI (I think thats what it was) where they had a magician dude who was the murderer. Anyway, he had this fancy little surgically placed skin flap on his upper palate, in which he could place a handcuff key. Idunno if this is actually possible, but it'd be kin...

nice... I've also seen it done with alcohol or other liquid fuel. Take that can that you ran vent holes into, or a larger one, making sure there are holes on top and bottom all around, and then take another can smaller than it, but large enough for a roll of toilet paper, or other material, to use a...

Yep. Not just sandals either - they make running shoes too (scroll down on the page a bit). I've also seen them from another company where the compartment pulled out of the back of the heel.

(although once I DID stuff some cash into my sock before I went jogging...) A backup of personal...

I'm assuming bugging out will be a bit like my time living on the road, minus the ability to hitchhike. So I'll just take with me what I normally carry on the road - a jews harp, a harmonica, a nose flute and in some cases a tin whistle. All very small, take up very little room and are very light.

Hemp? legal to grow and will produce edible seeds, it grows in all types of soils. ah, hemp. The plant that would save the world. If only so many industries weren't against it... On top of food, if you're good with your hands, you can make jewelry out of hemp - basically just a series of knots, ver...
