Why have the fancy electronic sites on a weapon if there is NO ELECTRICITY?????

Good observation. Stated in the show "batteries do not work". Not stated, "... except the RD sights on the cool militia guns." PLOT TWIST!!

I wonder if they should have been Trijicons or if that would be equally as implausible.

ninja-edit, haha, well, don't some people advocate how, in dire situations, you could always use the EOTech window as a large ghost ring?

Of course, that doesn't help the PEQ :/

Yep he must have been reading our thread  or maybe more folks just see the issues we do.

I think a lot of the issues would be easier to overlook if the writing and acting were better. But as that article mentions if the story is good you can over look many faults in accuracy etc. Sadly the story just hasn't gotten there. As the article also mentioned that the story seemed way too rushed, and it might have been better served by taking 3 episodes to tell the same amount of story from one pilot. The rushed feel of the pilot leaves little emotional attachment for the characters as there is little time for real character introduction and development.

Over all I thought it was a good article.

According to wiki and imdb the actress that plays Charlie was born in 1988.... So she is 24, not 16 as was posted earlier. Legal in all 50 states

That you did research on that is concerning.

As the spreader of the "she;s 16!" myth, I feel I need to prove I wasn't completely full of shit.

When I checked her page a week ago on WIki, it didn't have ANY of her other roles listed, I would have distinctly recalled her being in "Supernatural", because duh, that's where Kripke knows her from. I will find further proof of my error  but here is a website claiming she's 16:

According to the pages changes on WIkipedia, age was contested and corrected on 9/14. Whats funny is they have the day wrong as well. Considering shes posed tastefully topless in GQ, yeah she's totally 26. GQ would also have us believe she plays Fallout on PS3.*

Ithink it will be hard to get much better. But at least that shows the eotechs and PEQ (or similar device)

How do you think they are making the ice cubes? monroe places a couple into his glass either right before this or after.

Well, there were ways to get ice pre fridge/freezer days.Huge blocks of it as a matter of fact and not all was shipped via train... assuming trains 'aint working in this world.

We've got some ice caves in central Oregon and I know they are sort of common all over, about as common as ice caves can be that is, and back in the old-timey days ice was harvested in baig blocks out of these ice caves and sold.

There were other methods as well:

Making Ice with Fertilizer & water. Pretty much what they did in "Jericho" - unless you do it just right you're just going to end up with cold water and not ice however.

Main point is, it can be done.

Nice catch on the electronics & weaponry. I missed that one.

I'm pretty much with the dude that wrote that review. It looks like they just threw research and realism out the window and said "F this, we're making what we want."

I'll give it a few more episodes, but I don't see it being that great.

I was underwhelmed... All those nice shiny new canvas tents and everybody in clean and trendy clothes makes it difficult for me...

We will see if this is worth my time...

On the ice issue: If you read the great work of Henry David Thoreau "Walden", He spoke of men out on the pond cutting Ice in the winter, and packing it onto sleds to take to the Ice house. From that point it was packed in straw and shipped all over the world by sail, including San Francisco, where it could be found in the whiskey glasses of "great men" such as Stanford, Huntington, and Hearst(The senior).

Also, a bucky ball Icemaker can be run from fire or even sun power if done right.
