duckbill mag pouches

Postby lailr » Tue Nov 29, 2011 7:44 pm

So I know that the consensus is that SKS's are better with the box mag, not the Tapco stuff, but I have an old one I ran across as a deal and picked it up a long while back.... has anyone rigged up a pouch for those duck bill mags?

couldn't you just use a regular AK pouch with the duck bill end up and pocking out the side?

you can only put 2 duck billed sks mags in the german style ak pouches the pouches are sewn to fit the curved shape of a standard ak mag so you cant have 2 duck bills facing one direction and sticking out of the mag pouch ,and 2 facing the other direction ,the curved stitching wont allow it ! but it can be done it you cut the cloth separators inside the mag pouch out, but then the mags clank together and make a lot of racket

I'm looking for something that might fit a little better than the SAW option.....I'm pretty sure I could go to the Army/Navy and get something I could MAKE work, but I'm looking for something to keep noise down

If you're aware of the issues with detachable SKS magazines, how quiet do you really need to be?

Just stack them next to you on the bench and blast away. Re-install the fixed mag for patrolling.

Adding as many ponies to as many threads as humanly possible.

A person at your side with a carbine usually beats a person at your side with a bolt action.....Actually, I've got about 6 Tapco mags that work very well, but I had to cast about and hunt to find them
