Save some money. Seriously. That way you get what you want, not just what you can afford.

I can't think of anything new you'd want for 3 bills. You can find used guns and surplus guns in that range though. Maybe a CZ-82 or a used CZ-75. For a time you could get used Beretta 92's in that price range, but they aren't going to be pretty. Perhaps a used Taurus 357?

You can get some pretty decent shotguns for under $300 if you keep an eye out. Since you didn't specify the mode of your desired gun.
Shotties are fun and useful.

Kel tec branded weapons are nice and in that range. For an extra 100 you could get the sub2000 or an SU16.

Bersa makes a nice pistol in that range as well.

Shotgun or a decent 22 rifle.

You can get some used Savage bolt actions for around that price too.

Hi-point carbine is also in that range, and unlike the pistols pretty decent.

In the Low buck pistol range, used SW revolver, maybe luck out with a used SW or Ruger Semi Auto. New SW Sigmas can be had for just over 300.

You know what you want. If you buy something else, you'll just regret it down the line. Besides, it's always better when you save your money for something you've been wanting for a while!

Save it...

Even if you find a gun for $250-300, you won't be able to buy much any ammo to go play with it. Ain't no fun having a gun just to look at...

Save the money instead of just making yourself believe it's burning a hole in your pocket. That way you're not pissed when you buy a piece of cheap stuff, then do the same thing the next time $300 is burning a hole in your pocket, and then you look in your safe, see 2 guns you paid $300 each for, and think "Man, that's $600 that could have gotten me one really cool gun, instead of two things I got tired of really really fast"

Thats how I started buying guns, and it's really true. I ended up selling off most of those 300 dollar guns to buy a nice one.

Thanks for the confirmation :P

I'm in the "I got $300 right now I can safely afford to spend on guns/hobby" and keep having to remind myself about this... I don't want to end up with guns I'd rather sell than keep. >.<

*keeps reminding self to save*

Especially with that :\

However, if I get a 2nd Hipower, it'd have to be identical to the one I already own... dual wielding is only cool when it's the same model!

Some Rugers run right around $300. They might be worth a look.

How much would a Beretta Neos or no-frills Mk. III run again? They're pretty close to $300, aren't they? Otherwise:

10/22
Savage Mk. II
Savage 93
Used 1894 or 336

K31 or M1911
Enfield No. 4 Mk. I
CZ-82
Czech or Yugoslav Mauser
Incomplete CMP M44 for fixin'

Clearly the .22 is not for zombies. It is to shoot things that taste good with ketchup on them.
