I’m looking for information on propane machine gun simulators, or gas guns. They are basically machine gun mock-ups that make flash and noise by igniting a propane charge with a coil and spark plug. Re-enactors use these and they were used in training when I went through Basic. Not a real firearm, but a fun toy I would think.

Specifically what I’m looking for is plans, schematics, material sources for circuit boards and processors and any info from people who have firsthand knowledge of these guns. Thanks :D

I have the schematics and op manual for the ones TASC used to sign out stashed around here somewhere. IIRC they were run off of acetylene and oxy, not real complicated devices; basically a solenoid valve and piezo igniter feeding an expansion chamber. Give me a few days to dig through all of my old manuals and I'll see if I can come up with it.

Seeing other simulators would be cool, though.

Murph, you're awesome! That's even simpler than the ones I had heard a little about. No micro-processor or anything. This will be a fun project. Or my last one... lol.
