so, i ordered one of these:

http://www.awsin.com/proddetail.asp?prod=50478

turns out it's backordered and the website has horrible customer service. but i can't seem to find anything else out there like it.
i have a shotgun scabbard covered in molles and would like to get 10 or 15 shells on the side of it. not a pouch. any other ideas?

Buy one of these and add your own velcro...

A little expensive, but their stuff is rock solid. Haven't handled these yet though.

If price is a prob you can check cheaperthandirt.com. They might not have the best gear, but it works.

if you want good gear go to a reputable site like OpticsPlanet and type "shotgun pouch" into the search

I have a Blackhawk STRIKE Shotshell pouch that is molle compatible. It holds a bit more ammo than the panel you posted, but is a bit more expensive as well.

My wife and I really like this arm/shell holders...
- They're not weapon specific.
- They keep the weight off the weapon.
- They come in 5 and 8 shell flavors.
- I don't like attaching my ammo to the gun... recoil and movement make it flap around and since I can't train in that manner here in Marylandistan, I see it becoming an annoying distraction.

We also really like these shell pouches...
- MOLLE mount to anything.
- We use them to hold specialty ammo... like door breaching rounds in one color, and anti-material level slugs in another.

Yeah skip the first one, maybe get the second one. I would still prefer the TT shotgun panel. That reminds me, I need to go get another single mag shingle...

i actually have one of these, a friend just got me one. that could be perfect if i can figure out a good way to make it.

thanks for all the other ideas too. but the scabbard i have barely gives me 5 inches across so it limits my options.

Like I said, I don't like putting too much weight on the gun. The arm shell things are very nice and easy to use. If it had a backside attachment set to hold some sai or a dagger... now you're talking ninja.

you do realize that whether the weight is on the gun, or your arm, its still weight you lift.

True but the rotational moment would be less if he put it on his bi-cept instead of the gun. But I like keeping extra shotshells on a gun. If yuo are going to be using it for HD, then just grabbing the gun instead of the gun AND the arm thingie is easier and faster. I would get a side saddle personally.

Of course I realize that... in my state though you can't store a gun with ammo; they have to be in separate containers. Also, when hunting, I find these easier to carry around than ammo. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like ammo bandoliers swinging around and snagging on stuff and I suppose I don't trust the saddle shell mounts to keep the shells in place during recoil. Of course, I'm grabbing magazines for my Saiga 12 gauge to begin with...

Hey, as an aside from the OP, thanks for pointing those out, I picked up a couple of those for my personal gear.

Most of the established gear makers make MOLLE compatible shotshell holders. In addition to the aforementioned Tactical Tailor, there's also Blackhawk, Eagle, Paraclete and SOTech, to name just a few. ATS will have one eventually, but we've got a lot of contract work to finish up, and some other products in front of it, before we get to that.
