The Zombie Squad Charity Raffle to benefit people affected by the recent fires in California can be be found at the following web address:

http://www.sheffspace.com/zs/zsca.html

You can buy raffle tickets to items that you are interested in, or simply donate money to the charity drive if you prefer...

All of the funds go directly from you to Zombie Squad to Direct Relief International, with ZS being kind and generous enough to make up the money lost to paypal's fees out of their own funds...

The raffle and donations will run for a month from today, until 12/06/07...

Any questions/suggestions/complaints/etc can be PM'd to me or sent directly to me at: jsheffield@gmail.com...

Thanks in advance for your generosity in helping the hundreds of thousands of people who were affected by these fires!

<edit> As usual, Zombie Squad will also be covering any paypal fees so that every penny donated will go to the charity.</edit>

That is incredible Kyle and NFA. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart.

We have a large local machine gun community here, I will pass the word along and see if I can drum up some more donations. The coverage of those fires was one of the last things we watched together on TV... :(

I'm sure you guys know this already, but when Hurricane Katrina hit, Pat drove down to Mississippi and Louisana with supplies and volunteered his assistance to anyone who needed it. That's just the kind of guy he was. I'm sure that given the opportunity, he would have done something to help those poor people out in California.

Seriously, that is truly touching - thank you, I know he would have appreciated the gesture.

In Memory of Pat/HK33K - thanks for still having my back. Love you.

Hey guys, We really apreciate the donations but please make all your transactions at one time. There is a minimum charge per order that Zombie squad is paying for per transaction.

Please try and wait until you have decided what you want to buy raffle tickets for and order them all at one time. We definitely won't want to discourage you from coming back later and buying more if you decide to but making multiple transactions in one day could get expensive for us. :)

Thanks and good luck!

We have $98.00 in raffle tickets so far and in only a few hours. If we keep this up for a month we are going to beat the Greensburg fund raiser. :)

Sorry guys. I couldnt get the continue shopping link to work. I'll be getting a few more raffle tickets later, I'll try to get them all at once.

How will the winners be notified? Is it by the email address their paypal account is linked to? I know some people on other boards that would probably help out, they're probably not to interested in zombie stuff and survival gear so they'd probably just donate, but just in case they are, it'd suck to buy raffle tickets they wouldnt be notified for. Do you have to be a member of this site to win?

You don't have to be a member of the site to buy raffle tickets. The winner will be notified via their paypal email address.

My unit is currently taking donations for the California fire victims. I forget which charity they said it was that they were giving our money to as it was 0600 in the morning but I chipped in $5 (That was the max ?? I dunno). I also plan on donating some money through here too.

NFA, you're the freakin man and I think it's really cool that you spearheaded this project.

Sorry guys. Stuff came up last weekend. Will get to it ASAP.

I'll have a final tally of the total raised tonight.

Here's my suggestion to keep it fair:

I'll create a file with a list of raffle ticket numbers and corresponding names. The file will be created and I'll keep it hidden. I'll then give out the list of numbers (not names) to the raffle prize donors and have them pick the number. After I receive a number from each raffle prize donor I'll email the file to the prize winner and the prize givers. Then it'll be up to you guys to up hold your end of the bargain.

Yeah, it's not fool proof but ever one knew this was going to be based on an honor system from the start.

Thanks to every one who contributed! If you have any questions, let me know.

NFA, please email me a list of names/emails for the prize donors. Thanks!

Total tickets sold: 160 = $320.00
Total donations: $205.00

Total raised: $525.00 for the Southern CA Direct Relief fund raiser in Pat's (HK33k) honor.

Not too bad.

I'll be contacting the sellers to send me a number to pick the raffle ticket soon from some random numbers I give them. To give you an idea of your odds:

Item - # tickets bought
------------------------------------
skull - 2
maxbrooks - 52 (seems to be popular)
swissmess - 10
rations - 10
comic - 15
daybyday - 13
bracelet - 13
princetontec - 2
izzy - 17
streamlight - 8
paracord - 17
parakeymix - 1 (guess this one is won by default)

The other items were not bid on.

Thanks everyone!!
