World War Z movie - Brad Pitt and Paramount! W000T!

Zombie and/or other Post-Apocalyptic related movies for us to study and know what not to do.

That would be pretty awesome. If a different director did each story it would really help add to the personal feel of each.

BTW, if they dont include the story about the PMC in the mansion then Brad Pitt will be forever dead to me.

If they don't have that bit in there AND they don't have Henry Rollins playing the part, I'll be pissed. Even though I rag on the World War Z audiobook for being abridged, there's lots of good preformances in it. Hank voices the part of the merc, and does a damn good job at it. I actually thought he would've done better at voicing Tod Wainro (I forget the exact name, the US military trooper whose story they follow from Yonkers to Hero City) than Mark Hamill did.

I think ZS needs to write Brad Pitt and get some creative control over World War Z. I've seen lots of good ideas here, and I'd hate to see some dumbass screenwriter who hasn't even read the book fuck up the movie, like they did with "Starship Troopers". #&*%$*(@#*&%$*#($ director didn't even read the book.

Starship Troopers & The Postman are proof that mainstream hollywood cannot be trusted to make into movies some of our most beloved books.

Yeah, but the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings series prove that Hollywod can make a good movie from a book, even if there has to be a little bit of amputating to fit it all in.

Peter Jackson wasn't very mainstream. But I do agree that they CAN do it, you know what they say...... "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then".

Maybe this should be Peter Jackson's first foray into TV mini-series! :D

Whatever, but the only way that this thing has a chance at all is to be a mini-series. A movie even a long one will most likely suck.

Travis can you explain this statement? Moth people, myself included, find the book to be brilliantly written. What was your specific problem with it?

I didn't care for the interview format. I read every review I could find online, so I went to Barnes and Noble and bought it. Honestly, when the kid behind the counter told me that it was "just as good as The Zombie Survival Guide", I should have put it back on the shelf.

Just because Max Brooks writes about zombies doesn't mean he should be fellated and his work should be considered "great".

On the other hand, making a movie of it could very well make the "interviewer" the main character.

Yeah, you should have put it back on the shelf. It was well written and a good book. It may have not been your favorite, but that's ok. If you only read the 'greats' then you also only listen to Mozart, read Dante, and turn your nose up to anything that isn't a 5 start restaurant? Or is it just one thing in your life where you are just too good for what is good to most people?

I never once implied that I only "read the greats". I've got a pretty widespread taste when it comes to books, music and other "art", and I'm sorry that it hurts everyones feelings (why else would anyone get so excited because someone else doesn't like it?), but his type of writing just isn't for me.

"Well written and a good book" is a statement based on opinion (whether its the opinion of one, or many, it is still just that). I didn't like it, or the Survival Guide.
I hold a different opinion than many of you. Its not the end of the world. Untwist your panties and get on with your lives.

Lighten up guys. Life's too short to stroke out on someone else's opinion of a book.

Life is also too short to talk about how we are fellating an author just because he writes zombie novels. When you said that you were insulting us and telling us we didnt have the intelligence to form our own opinions and just leap on anything zombie related and love it. Sucks when we read between the lines doesn't it?

Life is to short to stroke out on someone else's opinion of a book, which you are just as guilty of. The difference is, I didnt call you a cock sucker because you didn't like the book. You, however, cannot claim the same to me for liking the book.

I've read posts all over the internet that glorify his writing for no reason other than the fact that he writes about the undead. Show me where I specifically named anyone.

I hold a different opinion. That doesn't mean that I am wrong.

You replied all huffy and bitchy to my post, because I don't enjoy the guys writing. I wouldn't say that I'm the one stroking out. My only comment was that I don't like the guys writing.

It's okay if you saw a book others recommended, found you didn't like it, gave your opinion, and went on to something else. L'épice de la vie. If we all liked all the same things, it would be boring!

I personally haven't found Max' stuff to be that great. He's amusing and talented, but not my taste really, and I also don't think Dan Brown could write his way out of a paper bag - but he writes about interesting things interestingly, and that's what got me to read him, anyway. And look how excited people got over his stuff.

My original comment was -
Just because Max Brooks writes about zombies doesn't mean he should be fellated and his work should be considered "great".

To be sure, my original comment was meant with a bit of jest, but take it however you want. I don't care if people like his work or not, but I'm not wrong just because I hold a different opinion of his work than a lot of people.

Off topic but from that link I went to a thread about Terminator 4, may suck but has River from Serenity. She kicked major ass in Serenity and Firefly so maybe she'll help the show.

So apparently being a fan of zombie stuff means you don't have to accept that someone else holds a different opinion?

Namecalling?

Man, you are all class and logic today.
