Better then a Wrangler. You can get off road with this vehicle as well as with the Wrangler. Better still, you also have an enclosed, secure, place to Sleep if necessary.

Out in McCain Valley in Southern California. Pics don't do the steepness justice.

Not sure if I've posted this one before but here she is. '83 Honda Shadow 500.

This is how I bought her.

And after a few modifications. I made the sissy bar myself.

All I have is an iPhone, tried to upload image but couldn't, figured a link to Flickr would do.

1994 Silverado Z71
Rebuilt from the ground up by my dad and I. My first truck, daily driver, BOV, etc.
5.7 Liter small block, remachined block, pistons and heads
Mild Cam, 454 Throttle Body, EBL Flash programmable ECM, 300hp/365lb-ft, 13/19 MPG
18" 2012 z71 Take-offs, 265/65-18 Bridgestone Duelers
Homemade Sub Box/Gun Rack behind the seat :D
As computerized as it is, it may not be a prime candidate, but in a bug out situation the "Honey Badger" will get me from point A to point B, and in a hurry, with plenty of clearance to veer off the beaten path if need be. Pretty quick for a '94, too. Always keep my BOB locked in the toolbox. Would prefer to have a designated BOV but as an 18yo senior looking to save for college, my baby will have to be my BOV. Afterall, she don't give a s#*t

Learn from the Honey Badger, fearlessly set your sights on a goal, then go in, not half-cocked, but balls deep, and you will likely succeed.

More time in the desert this weekend.

Image

The silt dust was horrible. I had to stop and wait for about 3 minutes for it to clear. Glad I did. Almost drove into a hole large enough to swallow the whole Jeep. The picture was taken about 5 feet off of my rear bumper. I couldn't see past the end of the hood.

Image

Something caught the O2 sensor wiring harness and ripped it out of the O2 sensor. Had to get under there and ziptie some stuff out of the way.

Just inherited this.....

Image

2008 F350 Turbo'd 6.8L diesel with under 80k. Not going to do much except routine maintenance maybe add a some lighting because when I took it offroading it didn't light up what was ahead of me very well. Also want to add a bed light the little one it had doesn't light up anything.

I've driven over some curbs and it easily handles anything an urban environment. Offroad in 4x4 it takes on and conquered anything I could think of.

It easily hauled my parents boat and camper over the pass (Snoqualmie) with no problems what so ever. So I'm rather damn happy (though it sucks I got it the way I did).

Installed a Detours XJ "Backbone" and a Rugged Ridge (Chinese) 8500lb winch. The "backbone" setup lets me keep the look mostly stock. I like the stock contours of the stock Jeep bumper but wanted a mounted winch so this worked out well and is half(ish) the cost of most full replacement winch bumpers.

Day Zero: just acquired my new BOV project, a 1997 Ford F-350 crew cab:

The dealer threw in a sweet topper he had at his maintenance lot. I'm homesteading, and my Ridgeline wasn't up to the work. I'm going to start setting up the topper to camp in while I'm traveling for work. When I have some more interesting pics compiled I'll be back!

I posted these on another thread, but I guess I will put it here too. This is my brother's XJ, which is much cooler than mine. It has some pretty interesting things done that aren't the usual "lifted Jeep" kinda thangsss

In Wharton for open season. No deer but still fun!
Jeep managed but reminded I promised it a winch and lift, plus meatier tires...

This is my first contribution to this thread. I picked this up on January 17th, 2015:

Image

It is a 1990 Dodge RamCharger, 4X4. It only has 84,000 miles on it. It was a fire department's ...errr....the fire chief's truck. So it is in a really good shape, and always garaged at the firehouse.

I mainly got it so I could transport these two in the back, with the back seated folded down:

Image

I've tried transporting them to the hunting grounds in a car, and it was just downright dangerous.
