Nice Jeep, bud!

Just read through all 22 pages, straight! :D

Personally I'm more of a Landcruiser man, but I do like those Cherokees! Haha.

Just a note, a few pages back you said you had a pinhole leak in a radiator hose.
Dry off the hose, wrap it with duct tape, then use some of the big cable ties(zip-ties) to hold them in place. Good temp measure to get to the parts store/start of the trail!
Although spare hoses and belts are good spares for any truck to carry :D

Cheers,
Sean.
I'd rather have it, and not need it, than need it, and not have it!

Thanks. I'd like to sell it to a Jeep club but I can't find any. Maybe one of your guys knows a guy that knows a guy in the DFW area. Just hate to go the insurance route and have all the great parts rot in a junkyard.

Sold it today. Guy had a 1999 Cherokee limited sweet truck. Black with black leather. But 2wd. He's gonna swap it, from the trans back(and forward). Thanks for the kind words. Suck sucks a little less.

Could use a header panel, grill, the trim around the headlights. Just some stuff that has been beat since I bought it. O and a transmission....mine is starting to get sloppy and has a little leak.

200 is ok. Probably the best I can do for unit, wiring and stick.

Cobra 75 WXST or Midland 75-822 for the radio. Midland converts to a handheld, both are small and the radio is contained in the handpiece, and both are under $100 on Amazon with the Midland being a bit less than the Cobra. If you want to go with a more standard rig then you'd be looking at a Cobra DX IV or Midland 1001LWX. The Cobra DX doesn't have weather, but both are inexpensive compacts. (<$70 MSRP).

50 ohm cable, enough to go from radio to antenna + about 1'. Some of the best stuff is that's affordable is Belden 9913, but RG-8 is good enough and costs less.

Performance is mostly in the antenna. You can't beat a 102" stainless steel whip ($25 at Radio Shack) for signal but it is a long antenna. Firesticks perform well, you can get them as short as 3', and they are under $30.

Best place to mount is fixed mount on the roof dead center of the vehicle, but that is work. Magnetic base is doable and likely prefered if you plan to resell Bumble at some point. Second best place would be off the sapre carrier. Don't go with a trucker's rig because that's a money pit you don't want to get into.

Spend another $25 or so on an SWR meter.

Got a swr from some yard sale. The cobra sounds like what im looking for. Ill probably go with the 3 ft firestick mounted to a custom mount ill put by my rear tail light. Roof mount is nice but I hardy fit in parking garages as it is.

Spend the money on an antenna spring. If you hit tree branches while off-roading it will save you headaches.

Planned on doing my nss and fuel pump this weekend.

Nss before cleaning and a spare I used parts from...

After cleaning. ..

Ended up just doing nss.jeep started and ran fine after fixing that. Still may do pump anyway or keep it incase needed.

Then took her out fishing with the boy....
