Also a weapon: My new truck

Postby JoergS » Wed Apr 04, 2012 12:22 pm

2005 Dodge RAM SRT-10, 506 hp, 10 cylinder (Viper) engine.

Dodge did to the pickup what I did to slingshots...

I LOVE that car. Just love it. Always wanted it. Now I have it. Yipee!

Hmmm... the engine is two sizes too large for me, and if I was to buy a new truck, I'd probably go VW Amarok, but it's... how to express this... sexy. :D
Next to you it looks smaller than it really is, though.

Just be advised that a mod is going to come along and move this thread to the transportation forum.

Impressive! I didn't know those sold outside the U.S.A.

In spite of the name, I think that your new truck is more fitting than this: http://www.google.com/images?q=dodge+slingshot&rls=com.microsoft%3A*&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&startIndex=1&startPage=1&oi=image_result_group&sa=X

Anyone else posting this under AOW, I'd get a few giggles... but knowing it's you... I'm waiting to see what ends up mounted on it.

2005 Dodge RAM SRT-10, nice. I know what the RAM is, as I like Dodge trucks, but I can see that in your case, the SRT stands for Slingshot Response Truck. I'm anxiously awaiting your proposed slingshot launching system, similar, no doubt, to that used on aircraft carriers. :D

btw, nice truck!

Seems like a truck THAT fast is much more suitable for no-speed-limit-fantastic-Autobahns Germany than for the US...

Did 150 mp/h yesterday, and wasn't anywhere near top speed, too much traffic. Need to test this over Easter, in the wee hours of the Sunday maybe.

I'm disappointed, I thought Dodge made a truck that shoots saw blades and machetes :( . Oh well, I'm sure in a few weeks it will.

Hmmm, maybe so. That's over *twice* the speed limit here in Texas.

Though I have a cousin who would peg out the 160 mph speedometer on his souped-up Chrysler Cordoba back when I was a wee lad and didn't really know him. We don't always follow what the sign says.

It looks quite appropriate next to you. I can just imagine the grin on your face as you yell out, "Yippee!" thrashing it down the Autobahn. :D

Regular is around €1.70 / l (that's US$ 8.40 per gallon for you) and Jörg buys a 500 hp V10. That's quite an expensive hobby, isn't it?

Krustofski, yes, the high gas price is the reason for my purchase. These cars are very cheap now as people have to get used to the new price level, so noone wants the big cars. Once people have adapted to higher prices, the value goes up again.

I won't be driving it much, maybe 3000 km a year (I have a company issue Audi sedan as well). So I will be using 750 liters of gas per year, tops. So I don't care much about gas prices.

I remember this one, either the guy popped a tire or he really just can't drive. That thing has to have a limited slip diff in it.
