Too much cream and sugar so lukewarm at best. I moved the thread over to "Other Weapons" but left a shadow so people can find it.

Most of the places I have lived, and this is my pet peeve when it comes to roommates, is the coffee table becomes a repository for everything. If it were a riot shield coffee table you'd have to kick it over to get all the shit off it and then everyone would die due to a ton of shit being on the floor.

I would say your clearly-stated policy of random, impromptu riot shield drills would become a disincentive to their leaving shit all over them.

Ahah, middle of the football game, roommate one has his laptop sitting on the coffee table, roommate two has his cellphone and a can of beer: Jeriah walks in and flips the riot shield out and charges into the front lawn, all the while thinking to himself "this'll teach 'em".

I kind of like the design, the hollow base would allow storage of other preps like water and foot quite nicely as well.

A gun coffee table might be the better way to go from a couple different perspectives (a little more aesthetically pleasing as well as more functional)...

...but I remember the days when room mates were necessary to make ends meet and when I was poor as hell. So I can kind of see the attraction.

If you're going for the whole '28 Days Later' look definitely riot shield all the way.

With the coffee table above you could still go with the whole super-hero theme though.

Call yourself 'Coffee Table Man', get a cape and tights and a mask that just covers your eyes (of course no one knows who you are despite the vast majority of your face being uncovered) and develop a cool logo. You could carry functional guns, get body armor that shows off your 6 pack abs and also carry a Starbucks cup. Go out and be a crime fighter, guaranteed to be up at 4am.

You'd have that nervous, twitchy, insomniatic look that comes with way too much coffee, but you'd be a super-hero.

Hahaha! That's sweet. I need one now! I wonder how hard it would be to make one? I meen the shield not the stand. I already have a BP MIL Riot Vest w/ 1" thick kevlar plating on both sides. This would be BOSS for any ZS gatherings. Idk, I might try to make one, just cuz.
