True that. I'm reading up on EFI systems and they seem like a nightmare to get running right, too, but if you know what you're doing and get a good tune, then it's better than a carb.

But carbs are the same way, just a quarter the cost and simplicity.

I'm not sure what I want to do. If I let my ass run wild in the future I'd have 15 grand in a truck that looks like it's worth 800 bucks. I really need to follow what you're doing, because I know that it's the smart, prudent, cost-effective thing to do.

Ive never understood why people have stickers of Calvin peeing on things before, until I fucked with this holley for over a year, then stuck on a random carb that had been sitting around outside forever, and had it work 100% better, immediately.

Right. The engine doesn't know if it's got a Holley, QJ or injection on it. All it knows is air/fuel ratio. Of course, how you get the a/f dialed in is the devil in the details.

Interior paint went on today. Dont mind the overspray on the windshield, that gets scrubbed/scraped off.

Im super happy with how this is turning out. We'll get the bedliner on the cab floor and tailgate, and some paint on the cabin control knobs, and then cosmetically, it will be just about done.

LOL dude its a 63, the air-conditioning unit is located just behind the a-pillar. it rotates outward.

If you really want AC in that, any Wagoneer unit will bolt right on. the ducts all mount to the bottom of the dash. You would be way better going with Classic Air unit, like I have been thinking a lot about for the Misery Machine.

yes but from my time in AZ a dry heat is still freaking hot. The grandparents old montero had no AC and I had to ware nomex (in two layers to handle the steering wheel in the summer) not to mention the feeling of need to carry a spatula to pry my self from the seats. I thus now love AC and will find a way to instal it in any vehicle i own (if it dosent come with AC.

AC in my "old" 97 ranger used to be two windows and a moonroof. In my "new" 86.. it's two windows and a sliding rear window. Ah, the luxury of living in a high plains desert. Desert it may be, but it doesn't get too hot. It's just dry as all get-out.

When I had my '88 Samurai with a 5.5" SOA lift on it I rolled in LV with no AC. Not a problem, you just need a good soft top to keep the sun off you. I never should have sold that thing, it's still rolling to this day. It was a damn mountain goat.

I'm thinking of using some dynamat stuck to the interior of the roof panel, then attaching the headliner fabric to some of that blue construction foamboard used for home insulation. Between the two of them, and the dead-air space, I should be able to avoid the EZ-Bake Oven effect I currently get when the truck is in the sun.

You might look into that aluminum backed bubble wrap. It dose great for blocking heat/cold. Dosn't do crap for sound dampening.
Also there is that super therm paint stuff.. Its supposed to be the shiat and i think you can get it at some home depots.

It have been getting plenty of ideas from it for when i get mine.
Although I plan on swaping in a 4BT with a dual tank system that will run on Waste motor oil.

Cab cover on my wrangler is some help, but not as much as you might expect. I did put in a headliner and that has reduced AC usage a touch and massively increased effectiveness. My experience on the bedliner in the tub is that it's durable, but not a good insulator of sound or heat compared to carpet. Mainly it's the window area for me, and you've got a lot of glass there as well.

I hope that is a little helpful at least. That's still one sexy truck though.

A good way to do it, Dynamic Control also makes Dynapad which is a little more purpose built, with heat resistance in mine. Just applied Dynamat Xtreme to my entire minivan headliner, even without another layer of pad it helped a lot with heat, not to mention road noise and vibration.

The Block is looking great. It has came a long way in my short time here. Strong work!
