Watching breaking bad and doing some yoga like stuff. Sore as fuck from climbing but I want to go again soon. May bike the canyon tomorrow if there is time after the cable man leaves.

This one I gotta give credit to phil_in_cs for turning me towards..

3 rounds
30 secs jump rope, 60 seconds burpees, 60 seconds rest

Scored via burpees 21, 18, 15 = 54 and I'm gonna deduct myself 10 because form was a bit shabby so only 44 .

Ah, yes....Phil and Cliff's original pain inducing failure workout....and its a really good idea, I'm at the end of my workout now. I think I will go do it.

Okay, calistenic warm up, followed by 2 minutes of jump rope. Hill run through the natural area, ugh, http://runkeeper.com/user/484519788/activity/96716113?channel=web.activity.shared.facebook.auto

Followed by Phi's burppee challenge, 15/14/12

Workout of the Day

Postby Chantrea » Sat Jun 23, 2012 8:56 pm

13 miles cycling immediately followed by 8 min run + 10 minute cool down walk.

Yay for stubbornness, finally my rear end is getting used to being on the bike for an hour. I'm feeling more confident in the endurance part of the cycling but need a lot more real hill practice ( vs just resistance on a stationary). I also need more practice bike handling downhill, which frankly scares me much more than hill climbing!

50 minutes of active rollerblading today (I worked up quite a sweat, and not just because of the helmet this time). :)

Was going to run this afternoon but due to a knee twist I might take it easy and do lap swimming instead, goal of 1000 yards.

Bought 12 bags pea gravel, 50 lbs each.
Bought 33 paver stones, 6x6x2", approx 5 lbs each.

Each time I picked up a bag I did 8 squats, walked about 200' then did 8 squats. Approx. 192 squats.

Then I picked up 4 pavers, 2 in each hand. I did curls for the walk up and the walk back. Didn't keep track of the curls but it was a lot. Squeezing the pavers together to keep them in my hand was a work out.

Gym membership? Nope, back yard. :awesome:

Today was my Spartan race. The Spartan Sprint is supposed to be 5K, but they announced that todays was a hair under 7K. It was a fun time, the obstacles were a good workout, but I didn't get a cardio challenge out of it, as I stayed with my wife throughout. She's never run even 5K non-stop, and there was a lot of short walking breaks. But this event was part of our 20th anniversary celebrations, and we planned all along to do the race as a couple. I believe I could have run the whole thing without walking.

I was quite pleased with how I did on the obstacles. I had no trouble at all with the wall climbs, and the rope climb went really well. It wasn't a knotted rope, and I haven't tried to climb like that in many years. But I did it!

Workout of the Day

Postby the_alias » Mon Jun 25, 2012 12:19 pm

This one was puke tastic - well retchtastic for me.

3 rounds of
400m all out sprint
20 squats
20situps
20shoulder press with 22lb plate
60sec rest

Go all out with the sprints even though you'll gas and slow down at the end.

This is something I need badly, I am a heavy guy. And not the good kind of heavy. :)

What is funny is my knee just decided it didn't want to work anymore and now I am working out more than ever, changed my diet completely, except Mt Dew.....baby steps :), and am actually losing weight and gaining endurance. Goal is by the end of this year to drop 40lbs and 60 lbs next year.
