Seems more balanced toward "have cool \shit/bragging rights" than actual useage. Expensive pistol with two mags, three boxes of different ammo, two weird blades that don't do all the things that a Mora and a machete/hatchet would do (I'm not a kuhkri fan because they do nothing that a regular machete won't do), shotgun with only nineteen rounds, which seems to be 8xbuckshot/8birdshot/3slugs (by the picture), and what looks like static line?

What the actual...Let me know if I need to go on. Seems like it was designed by someone who read about it on the wrong parts of the internet without really testing the gear or doing a moment of "Okay, do i really need 3 bics good for 10,000 lights each and a magnesium firestarter, but only 72 hours worth of food and no clothes."

EDIT so no one else has to look at the link, which is nothing but a list of links to buy the stuff and the above image:

Okuma Voyager Spinning Travel Kit ($40). Ontario SP16 SPAX Firefighter Axe ($60). Steripen Adventurer Opti UV Water Purifier with Solar Charging Case ($120). Leatherman New Wave Multi-Tool ($60). MSR MiniWorks Microfilter ($90). Survival Seed Vault ($38). Adventure Medical Fundamentals Kit ($110). MSR Packtowl UltraLite ($10 - $30). Snow Peak Titanium Spork ($9). Paisley Cotton Bandanas ($6). Mountain House 72-Hour Emergency Meal Kit ($49). McNett Gear Aid Tenacious Tape ($1 - $15). PROKNOT Outdoor Knots ($5). DMM ALPHA Quickdraw ($28). Suunto Global Compass ($63). MSR Titan Pot ($112). Sierra Designs Tent Stakes ($10). Guyot Designs Bowl and Cup Set ($13 - $20). Petzl Tikka Headlamp ($53). Swedish Firesteel Scout Model ($6 - $20). COGHLANS Emergency Tinder Kit ($5). American Silver Eagle Coin in Air-Tite Capsule ($39). Cold Kukri Machete ($30). BIC Disposable Classic Lighter ($7). UTG Elite Tactical Leg Holster ($11). Smith Abrasives Diamond Combination Thumb Guard Micro Tool ($29). Type III Paracord ($12). Gregory Mountain Products Tarne Backpack ($140). Mammut Supernova Climbing Rope ($150). iOSAT Potassium Iodide Tablets ($8). Gregory Accessories Raincover ($30). Etón SCORPION Solar Powered Weather Radio ($50). Mossberg 500 Pump-Action Shotgun ($500). Hennessy Explorer Deluxe A-Symmetrical Hammock ($177). MTM Survivor Dry Box ($15). Mountain Hardwear Phantom Sleeping Bag ($290 - $365). Sea to Summit Reactor Extreme Thermolite Liner ($59). HK P2000 Pistol ($941). Hydrocodone ($TBD). Ciprofloxacin ($TBD). Atovaquone ($TBD). Shotgun Shells ($TBD). 9mm Bullets ($TBD).

Sum total: $3764 once ammo is accounted for, and assuming you get deals on some items and pay no shipping. This reminds me of the time when I saw the series of ever-more-laughable "ULTIMATE ZOMBIE SURVIVAL LIST!!!!" lists on amazon.com

Last EDIT: $40 for a fucking coin? That thing better be HE or tracked by US Treasury recovery personnel or something. Otherwise I'm about to pay off a new motorcycle with a box of those my grandad left me.

Oh. Well, mass media sucks at prepping. I think they watch too many zombie movies or something, the wierdos.

Sorry, but a $3800 price tag for a ridiculous BOB just hit my giggle switch like Mike Tyson in his prime.

What? No hat. Unless I missed it there are some gaps like no pad/under quilt for the hammock but the photo is cool.

$940 for a P2000? They need to shop around, sheesh.

Eh, yuppie zombie kit. What can ya say? I mean, I love my USPc, but if I had it to do over again, I'd... well, ok, so I'd have still bought it. I love that gun. And lacking any kind of useful blade for camp chores is.. a poor choice. So then WTF is that heavy expensive sharperner for? No words. I have no more words for this kit.

The picture is interesting, but bleh any 72 hour bug out bag lacking actual water needs to be rethought I know they have water treatment covered.. If you dont carry water you're doing it wrong.
Plus it looks like there's not even a usable water storage container..

Also lacks clothes like someone mentioned.

Nothin to wipe with...

Poorly thought out and hyped with multiple weapons...
A person should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog,. .., build a wall, set a bone, take and give orders, cooperate, analyze & solve problems, fight efficiently, die gallantly RH

Haha, I noticed that too.
I work in marketing, advertising, and social media. I have been a prepper since before I knew what that meant... it's very interesting to me to see how it is becoming somewhat mainstream now. Doomsday Preppers, The Walking Dead, Articles like that one... etc. None of that would have flown 10, 15 years ago. Are the sheep waking up, or is it just a passing fad?

All cool shit that I wouldn't mind having and trying out, but the price tag that Doc Tor pointed out is way to excessive for anyone in their right mind to seriously consider, unless of course they are out of their Gosh Damn Mind! But there are some cool items in the kit, but I don't know if they are any good in the field or if they are just for show. And the minimal shotgun ammo is a stressor for me. I wouldn't bother hucking along a shotgun with only 19 rounds, it would be left at home next to the dressor LOL. But yeah, cool photo, some cool items, a little bit of a marketing thrust there, but cool photo.

I've seen worse, especially considering it appears to be more of an artistic photo than a real kit. As for the ammo, there appears to be plenty. I know this has been gone over before, so ill just say that I'm on the less is more side of the "how much ammo you will need to carry" debate.
