Our neighbours do have it also and I want it too but the problem is my wife. She don't want to have gun in our home.

Welcome to the forum glenood. The easiest way to change that is to get your wife on board. I have taken my shooting with me try a 22 to start with, my missus was very anti gun when we first got together, she bought her first pistol last month and actively talks about us getting our CCW permits later this year. Just offer to take her with you shooting and start slow with her takes time mine is starting to come around now.

Also, and I'm sure most ZS parents here are already on to this trick - teach your daughters to shoot. They come to adulthood already knowing it's fun, and being used to guns kept in the house safely. This way the next generation can complain about needing to get their husbands on board too!

LOL My four year old has told me she wants to learn to shoot and she wants a Pink gun ASAP. I think next year I'm going to start teaching her.

I just try to be discreet about it, If I know I'm going to the range in the morning I make sure I back my car into the driveway the night before for easy garage-trunk loading tho my rifle is encased in the factory case that says "Sig Sauer" on it.. My solution is to just move swiftly. Other than that, nothing about me says "GUNS" my roommate and I are also car/motorcycle people, so I assume those also help distract the neighbors from thinking too much. And I don't know the neighbors but always make it a point to wave and smile if I seem them.

Another apartment dweller here. I'm secretive whilst not appearing to be. No gun decals on cars or home, gear transported in disguise (garment bag, generic totes, range bag inside of Hefty bags, etc.). The biggest problem with neighbours knowing, as I see it, is not bad guys breaking in when one is home, but when one is away at work, the market, etc.. My goal is to project a, "nothing to see (steal) here" vibe.

I live in NYC high rise co-op and very anti-gun.

I use a guitar case to carry my guns to my car. I forgot who makes it, but Brownells has a soft sided guitar case that is made to carry the AR15. I dont have an AR15 but I can put most of my rifles in it.
I also have a hard sided acustic guitar case that i put foam in to carry other guns - I can get 2 rifles in that one. My only problem is that a lot of musicians live in my building and ask what kind of guitar I have - I tell them its a cheap 99 dollar guitar and I am just learning!

1) I own a gun safe, not a locker... but a SAFE. Its small, but I dont own much (nor do I wish to be a collector). It is BOLTED to the floor. Once you do get it out, its a bitch to open without a torch or a partner in crime with digging bars for the both of you. No much concern there.

2) I own a pissed pup... Well, only toward strangers. She goes the fuck off toward anyone that comes within the boundaries of the property. Fucking lucky to have a dog that damn smart.

3) If it is not out to be used, cleaned or carried... its in the SAFE.

4) House is rigged with several cameras and a Zmodo. Evidence for future retrieval if they get past the dog, and get the safe out... WITHOUT bringing attention to them selves from the neighbors.

5) Very seldom is the house not occupied, the wife is in disability and pretty much is a home body. She has a dedicated 20ga for defense. (no need to really "aim", just point and click)

6) I even carry in the house many times, quite often, more so now that we have predators and stalkers in the subdivision (not sure who yet... but video evidence has been surrendered to the authorities for investigation)

7) Since Im a 2A guy, I open carry a lot. Anyone that lives in this sub knows... I have and I pack. I dont hide it, and I dont flaunt it. To me, its like wearing sunglasses, I think nothing more of it. It also... serves as a visual deterrent for scopers present and future.

8) A tiny 1" X 2.5" "Dont Tread On Me" flag sticker in on the glass of my front storm door. Visually more warning than "no trespassing". (The stupid "dont worry about the dog, worry about the owner (pic of gun blelow)" is retarded and immature.)

That is all...
Andrew

Edit:
Damn, I just realized after I posted... I made no contribution to your situation.

Ahhh ADD sux.

Anyway, the guitar case thingy the other posted mentioned rox out! Whew!
