Naked Man Allegedly Eating Victim's Face Shot And Killed By Miami Police

For sake of mental bubblegum (discussion), let's say this is the 1st reported instance, more follow in a few hours, and more start tricking in after that as it spreads up from Florida. A few people, unknowingly infected, take flights back to their home cities. This infection takes a couple days to take hold of the person - which unfortunately allows it to spread to many more before being identified... For discussion: we are currently witnessing the first report. Think through your real-world, current location and possessions and begin.

Just when you think the world couldn't get any weirder this has to happen.

"IF" this were the first sign, I would imagine that the gov would keep things bottled up regarding the REAL EVENT news wise until they didn't have a choice, probably for at least a week, maybe two. By then there would simply be no way to contain such news, especially around transportation hubs like major cities. Once the word got out it would be "Katie Bar the Door", all hell would break loose and they know it! I really don't think we'd get updates on an hourly basis at least not in the initial phase. Just consider how long it takes a local news item to make it from the first reports on the Internet to the main stream media. It can take anywhere from days to weeks unless it's so obvious that it can't be ignored, like 9-11.

I think the actual real word would first spread over the Internet, especially to sites like this and of course phone calls, texts and tweets to friends and family outside the areas of initial infection. If there was a complete communication black out in an area I'd be highly suspicious.

So what would I do first....mount up, as I live in an "open carry" state that's exactly what I would start doing right off the bat. All weapons would be broken out, locked and loaded, all magazines loaded up, bug out bags ready and positioned, war belt and battle gear ready and close at hand. Then I'd break out the emergency plywood and secure all the windows and doors, check and top off all water barrels. Once I was sure the perimeter was secure and we were ready to repel all boarders I'd power up the short-wave, SSB, and CB radios and listen while at the same time surfing the Internet for as much information as I could get. Knowledge is power.

After that, it would just be a waiting game. As we live in a semi-rural area with each house on 1 1/2 to 3 acres lots with plenty of space between houses, it's not like anyone will be able to suddenly sneak up on us. I've pre ranged and mapped all the houses in view around us and have many clear lanes of fire out to well over 500 yards. Once I was sure the inner perimeter (house) was totally secured, during the following days I would strengthen the outer fence line, add extra layers of barbed wire, chain-link, tangle foot, punji sticks and any other such impediments I could come up with.

If necessary, with supplies we on hand, we could easily bunker down for well over a year before we'd have to emerge looking for food, water, propane, firewood and toilet paper etc. Don't forget toilet paper....very important.

Well thinking from the Government angle first, since if its true they would bottle it up as best as possible, I wouldn't know anything more than I know about this right now from the article.


This is Florida so the government blocking the roads out would be pretty easy.
Shutting down the airports would take nothing more than a terrorist threat to shut them down for a few days while 'inspections' went on.
Any second outbreak incident would be bottled up by the government.
The internet would be shutdown into and out of Florida the first day or second day. To be turned back on after its routed through filters and a special government agency or two.
Cells phones turned off. To easy for the government to do that one.
Short wave would be monitored. Anyone talking to much about any Z outbreak would have a quick knock at the door. Unless they were running illegally.
Blocking the waterways would be almost as easy as closing the roads. Coast guard and Navy would handle that one.



Sitting here in Ohio I would be doing the same thing I am now. Cruising the internet.



Now if the Government totally fell on its face and did nothing then second and third reports would be flooding in left and right and my fanny would be contacting my mates and family and making final decisions.

The incident happened at about 2pm local time on Saturday near Miami's busy Biscayne Boulevard, just south of The Miami Herald building, the newspaper reported.
A witness told Sunday of yelling for the attacker to get off his victim, before police arrived and repeated the demand.
As an officer drew his gun and called for an end to the disgusting attack, "the guy just stood ... with pieces of flesh in his mouth and he growled," Larry Vega told WSVN-TV.
He said the scene after the assailant was shot several times and fell alongside his disfigured victim was "one of the most gruesome things I've ever seen in my life."
It remains unclear why the attacker pounced on his victim, who police theorized might have been homeless and laying down when the crazed man began the assault.
It was also unclear how both men came to be naked, but police said the attacker might have been suffering from "cocaine psychosis," a drug-induced craze that makes a person very hot, according to the Herald.

According to police sources, a road ranger saw a naked man chewing another man's face on the side on an off-ramp and shouted on his loud speaker for the attacker to back away.
The man refused police orders, which led a police officer to fire one shot.

The Herald reported that the man continued his gruesome attack after being wounded.
A witness said as many as six shots were fired. Police have requested surveillance video from the Herald's building, the newspaper reported.

Surveillance video showed an officer approach the men underneath the metro mover rails. The officer took six steps, then quickly backs up and grabs his gun.

"When the officer approached him, told him to stop, pointed a gun at him. He turned around and growled like a wild animal and kept eating at the mans face," said Fraternal Order of Police President Armando Aguilar.

Part of me is wondering, Cocaine Psychosis, the dubbed "miami cannibal" a product of mental illness? Or is this simply one of those bizarre stories that crops up from time to time....

EDIT; lost the linkys, but NBC/Miami Herald reports that the victim (his and attacker as well as officer involved, no names released yet) lost 70 to 80 percent of his face, and that they believe that this is drug related, as they have had 4 similiar cases in recent months....
One involving a bad acid trip, cocaine abuse and other "related" drug issues...

But all involved biting the victim... can't seem to find the original story on these "previous" cases... But if you ask me, that's a hell of a coincidence... Is drug induced cannibalism some kinda trend in florida, or what?

OK, so this is a weird story but, the idea of "Drug Induced Cannibalism" is not that weird when you think about strange things people did in the '70s on PCP, Angle Dust and, LSD.

One of the articles does mention "police theorized that the attacker might have suffered from “cocaine psychosis,” a drug-induced craze that bakes the body internally and often leads those it affects to strip naked to try to cool off."

There are weird new forms of meth and cocaine out there so it may have been "cocaine psychosis." Then again I'd lock and load for safety.

Wow this kind of freaks me the hell out. But at the same time I'm like zombie's are something I like to prepare for but never want to experience (fun hobby).

This does sound like what the previous posted said about cocaine psychosis as I've seen people high on drugs strip down naked to cool down here in Vegas.

But until they figure if its drug or just mentally induced my guns are loaded and waiting the first "walker".

It was a scene as creepy as a Hannibal Lecter movie.

One man was shot to death by Miami police, and another man is fighting for his life after he was attacked, and his face allegedly half eaten, by a naked man on the MacArthur Causeway off ramp Saturday, police said.

The horror began about 2 p.m. when a series of gunshots were heard on the ramp, which is along NE 13th Street, just south of The Miami Herald building.

According to police sources, a road ranger saw a naked man chewing on another man’s face and shouted on his loud speaker for him to back away.Meanwhile, a woman also saw the incident and flagged down a police officer who was in the area.

The officer, who has not been identified, approached and, seeing what was happening, also ordered the naked man to back away. When he continued the assault, the officer shot him, police sources said. The attacker failed to stop after being shot, forcing the officer to continue firing. Witnesses said they heard at least a half dozen shots.

Miami police were on the scene, which was just south of The Miami Herald building on Biscayne Boulevard. The naked man who was killed lay face down on the pedestrian walkway just below the newspaper’s two-story parking garage. Police have requested The Herald’s video surveillance tapes.

The other man was transported to the hospital with critical injuries, according to police. Their identities were not released.

Granted the whole cannibalistic thing caught me by surprise too. However, I work right next to the Ryder trauma center where the victim was taken. Our posts has not had any strange encounters that are out of the ordinary as of yet, nor have we been alerted to anything.

I have seen a few more bodies enter my facility than usual but none of them have come back to life even after insistent poking by me with a stick. If something does happen I assure you that I will be the first to post to warn you of any impending apocalypse ensuing or otherwise. I am in a secure facility with reinforced walls and entrances with autolock doors inside and out. I will provide a first video glimpse in the event of the dead rising. Then I will start swinging away with a stainless steel shovel that is in the cryo room that I have had my eye on and will use the liquid nitrogen tanks on wheels to the best of my ability. Freeze and Smash! That is my plan to get out!
