Escape from NewYork!

Postby bae » Tue May 01, 2012 9:05 am

So here I am, at a suite in the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan, with my wife and teenage kid.

We have good walking shoes, two day backpacks, a small first aid kit, 50 feet of parachute cord, a good flashlight, a couple days food and water in our suite, and two S&W tactical pens.

I got a lovely shotgun at the Beretta salon yesterday, but I can't take delivery of it here.

Say the OWS crowd that yesterday spray-painted "The Banks Will Burn 5/1/12" all over the place around here all turn into zombies today, and we have to flee the city.

None of us are Kurt Russell.

What do we do?

Probably shoulda made plans with ZS members in the city or surrounding area.

Trust the people on the ground who know the area and ask them.

That would probably be a really smart first move. Maybe do a internet search & see if there's a outdoor or hardware store anywhere close where you might be able to buy extra supply's at the first hint of trouble? I hate to say this but without a network & or weapons your best bet may be to hold up in your room for a few day's & hope that the authority's handle the uprising.
Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it, & you can bet they'll whine that nobody warned them.

Befriend the Duke of New York. And then watch out for Kurt Russel.

I would go downstairs to the Oak room for a very expensive lunch, perhaps cross the street and check out FAO Schwartz, get some nice toys, go to the Apple Store , maybe they have an Zombie Disaster App for sale. Then grab a house and carriage ride in Central Park. I would try to do as much of these things as I could before becoming some zomibes main course.

I live in Manhattan - Village area - should have checked with me before you came down!

If leaving - walk west to 12th ave and then down to west 40th and walk thru the Lincoln Tunnel into New Jersey. If tunnel is closed off walk north to George Washington Bridge - again cross over to NJ.

If bugging in - use wire from lamps and make some snares and go into Central park and get some wild game there - you may be able to get ducks and such close buy using crackers - then wack them with a curtain rod.

A police scanner or ham radio comes in handy!
