Post Your Busse and Bussekin Blades

I've noticed more threads and posts showing Busse and Bussekin (Swamprat Kniveworks and Scrapyard Knives) on the forum in the past couple months.

As a couple members seem to be acquiring (or already have) a respectable collection of these knives, I thought I'd start a thread for the members to show their Busse (and Bussekin) knives. If the poster wishes, write about the blade, their initial impression, performance, intention of use, etc.

Prior to last year and just getting into knives at the time, I had never heard of either of these companies. Hopefully, this thread will help enlighten someone who is the same boat I was last year. Someone turned me onto them and I'm certainly glad they did.

Here's my "start" into the obsession:
NMSFNO (Nuclear Meltdown Special Forces Natural Outlaw)

Specs:
Blade .25" (Convex) 8" (Blade spine and handle have Busse's Nuclear Meltdown Treatment - rounded edges, similiar to "melting" the corners and edges of a handgun.)
Overall Length 14"
Weight: 21 oz.
Satin Blade Finish, Hand Finished (smoothed) Black Micarta Grips

As I just received this on Saturday, I really haven't had much chance to test it's capabilities. I will say my initial impression is certainly positive. The hand-smoothed grips feel great in the hand. Can't imagine any 'hot spots", though future use will tell.

Yep. I'm pretty sure that was me.

I ended up making my decision back in February, but as I went through the Busse Custom Shop (vs the secondary market in forums and ebay) it took till now for delivery. Well worth the wait.

You're not kidding!!! There's just something about those Ergo Grips. Currently I have my eyes on a SH-E I've found for sale. So tempting.

bae, how would you compare the Ergo grips to the Straight handle, Fusion, Special Forces, etc.,?

Busse blade shapes and handles do not really appeal to me. I am not all that sure that their INFI steel is such a wonder material either. I have only purchased one of their products, a CABS.
Handle was way to thin, to short, and poorly designed. I wound up paying more money to have a craftsman rehandle the knife in Bocote wood. Now it is a serious user, and one of my favorite Bush Craft knives. Despite it being a good performer now, I have not bought any more from Busse.

I have one and have never seen another like it. It was given to my dad then he gave it to me before I went to Iraq. It has survived a house fire and still works great. I do wish they would open a brick and mortar store as well since I only live 10 miles from their factory.

It looks a little rough since it survived a house fire and about 1.5 million gallons of water on the building. The handle to me also looks like real wood, not sure how they got the color on it though.

I'm not sure on the model as I'm still learnin' my way around the whole "Busse thing", but based on the rivets and the fact that the blade is "sterile" (no markings) it is one of their older knives. I can't be positive, but I'm pretty sure the handle is actually smoothed micarta. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable about Busses will come along and provide more insight.

I have had it for years. My dad gave it to me in 2002 and he was given it a few years before that from Jerry himself. He also has another one of the Busse line called the Police Recruit that is no longer made he got at the same time.
