Kinda makes me want to read the books, to see what was cut. I got the impression several times that there was some significant character building left out, but overall, I give it a thumbs up.

I read the book, which of course is even better, since it has more detail and charcacter development. My gf liked it and is in line behind my oldest daughter to read the book. There is a some emphasis on snaring game, which has got me reinterested in that. My daughter wants a bow.
