I just wish we had somewhere decent to train, and a decent company to provide instruction, in Florida.

Also check you Larry Vickers, Magpul Dynamics, and EAG Tactical. I think all of them sometimes teach classes in FL.

You know, MilCopp is a travelling class... we will come to you. Shorty would love a four day weekend in Florida, sitting by the beach with a beverage while I sweat my ass off teaching a class.

How would she like to freeze her ass off on the tundra? Maybe a special snowpocalypse training weekend in WI would be fun, assuming a whiter Christmas than this year

Don't AR's need a special lube for arctic conditions?

That. Hence my lamenting the lack of a large, non BLM range in the area that's not a gun club.
Nothing is ever what it seems, but everything is exactly what it is.

I know it's a long shot, but assuming I could find a suitable range what would it take to get MilCopp out here? What attributes would the range need to have?

Our requirements are simple;

A backstop about twenty to thirty meters wide at the narrowest, and at least three meters high. The depth of the bay/range needs to be about fifty meters deep, longer is nice.

Some kind of barricades--barrels, movable plywood walls or some cut similar to the Viking Tactics design, cars, airplanes....

Target stands, cardboard.

Shade, water, a bathroom (not necessary but nice), and eager students!

That's about it. Depending on the distance we travel, we'd want to be able to purchase ammo or have ammo shipped to the location for our use. Other that, maybe a place to crash for a couple-three nights to cut down on cost on our end.

Yep. I'm moving to Orlando in about two weeks and I think there are a few more suitable ranges there for dynamic training. I'm going to start scoping out other options once I get there. Tampa is pretty lame when it comes to ranges. I about got kicked out of the local one for doing hammer drills from 15yds in my own "stall".

Yes, we have seen those problems elsewhere!

Just drop us a PM if/when you decide to start looking at a class.

How does Shorty feel about Mexican food? I know of a place north of town here in the beautiful, sub-tropical Rio Grande Valley, Texas.
I'll talk to the guy and see what's up.

We love the Mexican food! That week in San Antonio was one of the best vacations yet!

I WISH I was near San Antonio. But I'm waiting to hear back from the landowner. Then I gotta see how many students I can round up.

OFA is fine. I did a pistol class there awhile ago. Defensive pistol 1 or some such.

So you're a no-go for the Missouri class in June?

Somewhat on topic, anyone familiar with any training opportunities out Maryland way? Anyone familiar with WTG?

To the OP, a buddy of mine runs courses in Idaho. I haven't been through his course there, but worked with him in AFG. Good guy, knows his stuff, and is a great instructor.
