Have any of you been to the Coosa County WMA Shooting Range?

Mobile, Alabama.

I could likely bring another with me. He reads the forums, but hasn't joined them to my knowledge.

Not that my joining has spawned many posts from me.

I have been having problems meeting AL-ZS people for years. I have only meet 3 people from ZS who live in AL and went to a Camp N Shot in GA with some other ZS members. It really seems hard to get people together with work, family, and other responsibilities.

Maybe soembody can come up with something and we can get something going.

Ah gotcha, I was going to say if you were close to south Alabama, you could join up with us starting the east Louisiana chapter. I definitely think there needs to be a north Alabama chapter... Driving 6 hours would not be fun.

Hell, it would be good to just have ANY chapter in Alabama. With as many outdoors/hunters as there are here I keep wondering what is keeping people from forming up.

Well... y'know... if you could stealthily get that big rocket at the rest area up and runnin', it'd be a great BOV. Jes' take it suborbital-like, and pick yer spot.

*sigh* I miss my Moon Miner's Manifesto...

Checking in from just northwest of Birmingham. I was wishing the other day that we'd have enough folks one day for an AL chapter, doesn't look like anytime soon though.

Here's the main problem with having a NALA chapter. Just north of Tuscaloosa is Winston County. Which is home to the majority of the exotic chemists in the state. My information is that a tremendous amount of what is produced is distributed to Tuscaloosa and Florence with some into Birmingham. The majority of people like ourselves are a threat to these folks. The majority of us don't want the drama of getting tangled with these folks.

I will be watching and when I get my wheels up and going I will be available. Keep drumming and be sure you recon everyone that joins.

There can't be an Alabama chapter because of some chemist? What??

The secondary issue is money. Gas is outrageous... so it's either mass transit folks or have smaller groups in more locations.

I bring this up because I have been beating my head trying to get folks stocked, locked, and cocked for ten years now. So far the attrition rate is killing me.

A good friend has suggested I join here. Says it will restore my faith in the living.

About the only thing I have been restored to is I am not the only one but you all are trapped in the loop. I wanted to let you know what loop it was and show it to you. I have reconned it thoroughly.

Exotic chemist= derogatory slang for illegal drug manufacturer.

You are struggling to find people because most of them support these exotic chemists in some way or another.

Ok I can follow chemist = drug cooker. But we can't have a survivalist group because the intersted individuals support drug dealers?

-lost again-

Gas does really suck. I had to supplement my land cruiser with a 93 Honda accord. I can make it to bham. But much further north than that isn't realistic for me.

Zrherd... I appreciate your discourse... my point is you can have a group. But you are competing with a more experienced and better funded organization. How many people have viewed this thread? Look at the responses. I count four individuals that are chomping at the bit. Everyone else is cheerleading or seeing the progress... aka gathering info.

You want a chapter? Advertise off board. Talk to people, make and hand out hand bills .

I'm still wondering what organization is in competition with a zombie-themed disaster preparedness and charity organization like ZS... and what the meth heads have to do with it.

just moved back to Bham from Chicago.

Some of my good friends just joined the Chicagoland chapter. Heck, he's even hosting the chapter meeting next weekend. Its amazing, I was able to find a dozen guys to hit the gun show with my up in Chicago, but couldnt find single person to go to the gun show this past weekend @ the BJCC

i did manage to find this though....
