Redneck tank cleaning service? Sometimes the silly sounding ideas are the best!

Some updates, but these will be boring until I get final paint on it:

Image
New tranny filter and gasket, trying to track down why all my ATF ends up in a puddle over a few weeks. First I thought it was the vacuum actuator, but it still leaked after replacing that, so we're pulling the pan and replacing gaskets. Fuck cork seals.

Image
Poured tank sealant in my gas tank, so that will be the end of any rust in it.

Paint is 2/3 on. The base coat is shot on the exterior, and we're going to finish the clearcoat when braxton wakes up.

Here's Brad and Braxton shooting paint

Oh, and I'm sending all the chrome out to be powdercoated, so we dont have to dick with paint on it.

Ugh, today was not a good day.

Showed up to start fixing some clear coat problems we had with white boogery material (matte additive) in the clear, ended up shooting another layer of base over it. Then a bug landed in it. Then we got a fingerprint in it.

Now I need to buy another $100 of clear to finish it tomorrow. :(

The next step will be to get the chrome to the powdercoat place. Its all sitting in a tub at the shop, I just need braxton to drive by the shop some time this week, hopefully.

Does it have as much rake as it looks like in the picture? Seems like the front is about 3" lower than the rear.

It's raked, yes. a couple inches higher in the rear. I kinda like it, but I'm not sure if Im gonna keep that setup.

Either way, Ive got a lot to fix before I start changing up stuff that runs fine because of how it looks. :)

Haha, I know it's probably low on the list of priorities, it was just an observation.
