Well thanks to COD we all know to just drop our 1911's when the Zeds come, cause the 1911 sucks against zeds moreso than the M1A. We also know to trade out our M1 Garand because that sucks too. And that my humble 357 revolver will be SO MUCH better than a 1911 when teh zeddies come. Also we know that JFK may be in attendance, commenting on our weapons. And that the zeds will sometimes be carrying nukes.

Don't forget to carry your Desert Eagle in .50AE (because they don't make them in other calibers, you know) as a secondary! I mean, that AK-74u sub-machine gun fires such a sissy round: it doesn't do crap. The Russians totally nerfed it since Vietnam back in the '60s before it existed. They had to tone it down in the final stages. Everyone knows the best longarm to use on zombies is a generic, no-name double-barrel shotgun you found down by the creek that's missing its serial numbers. Besides, if the zombehs do get you, all you have to do is inject yourself with various narcotics and get back on your feet.

The sad part is that I once talked to someone wanting to get a Desert Eagle... considered carrying it, I think. I told them, "It's stupid, but if you want to go that route, I highly suggest the .357 model so you have two more rounds and, I would assume, far less recoil."

Even my argument of, "but your Ruger Blackhawk is in .357... you could just share ammo" didn't sway him. Pretty sure he gave up on the Desert Eagle idea, though. He tends to do that. Supposedly finds a cool gun, talks about it, "almost" buys it, decides he doesn't want it/it's too expensive/it got sold/the guy backed out/I needed to repair a vehicle, and then asks me why I purchase the firearms that I have.

I think one of the greatest sins commited by those games upon the fragile little minds of today's youth is convincing an entire generation that they should pick a gun that is of a popular calibur because that way you can just walk around your neighborhood and find spare ammo laying around. Everywhere you look there is ammo, always will be, so why bother buying any now? Either that or not needing a gun at all because they surely will be able to scavange one whenever the need arises. Then of coarse walk a few more feet and there will be the always available ammo stockpile.

So I explained to him that those games are unrealistic, and went into graphic detail about the physical and emotional damage that the hero would suffer: constant pain from wounds, PTSD, nightmares, difficulty forming stable relationships, heightened risk for drug and alcohol abuse, suicide, anger issues, etc etc.

He has a point though. I asume almost everyone can shoot and run, actually hitting shit is the difficult part. So, for the game to be more realistic, you should be able to shoot while running, but your crosshairs should jump all over the place while doing so. Am I right or what?

We get to talking about 1911s and Glocks, to which the son says "I'm just getting a Sigma, it's not like I'll need anything better if I decide to rob a bank.", in a serious tone. If he was kidding, which I doubt he was, it was a stupid thing to say, especially in front of a bunch of customers who very well could've included off duty LEOs.

After hearing that remark, I excused myself from the conversation and left the store.

Five years in the pawn industry. Here are a couple of gems that were said to me or i over heard.

1. "You are gunna have to fill out the form cuz I aint gunna pass the background check." spoken by one customer to another.
2. "Right now we will take it across (to Mexico) and sell it for twice as much." spoken by a customer that was attempting to pull a gun out of pawn.
3. "Its okay, I dont need to have paper work, (on a full auto Mac-10) I'm with the sheriff department." spoken by a sheriff deputy bragging about his full auto machine gun that he got a s a gift.
4. "That gun is stolen. Did u file a report? It says Goverment model on it. Its property of the Goverment." Asked by a police officer pointing at a goverment Model Ruger 22lr
5. " Silencers are illegal and that gun has a silencer on it. look at how thick the barrel is." spoken by the same poilce officer pointing at the bull barrel on the same Ruger.
6. "So how much to just let me walk out with it?"
7. "Why the hell wont u sell me a gun?" Asked by a custiomer that i had just witnessed verbally abusing his wife while in the parking lot of the shop.

I remember that one person was walking around to people saying Sprechen Sie Deutsch? just to mess with them since pretty much no one around here at all knows German. I am very, very, very, very poor at it, but I do know a couple phrases. He finally got to me, Sprechen Sie Deutsch?
I replied with, Ja, Ich spreche wenig Deutsch.
"What are you, some sort of Nazi?" was all he said after a brief pause.

I don't even know what to think of that "conversation." I felt like I was in the Andy Griffith Show talking to Barney Fife after that. I can't even count the number of times I've been asked if I was a Nazi or a skinhead simply because I knew German (I'd also like to point out that my hair is pretty much between the shoulders in length, so... not really a skinhead: that one made me laugh). I wonder what they think of the local Amish...

Putting a comma in front of "und" or "oder" is almost always wrong. And it's spelled "hässlich" (or "haesslich" if your keyboard doesn't have an ä).
