Will it reach 26" folded up? AK underfolders with slant brake, AMDs, Uzi carbines, etc. don't quite make it.
Yeah that sucks too about registering as a pistol 26-30", the upside is you can also haul it around with you in a bag wherever you could an actual pistol. if there was a shorter than 30 rd. mag for the Vz that would be helpful for this.
IDK. I generally just buy a folder seperate, and leave it off, and really do (though I think it's only a misdemeanor...but you'd never see the rifle again if an LEO knows the law, that's certain). Have seen a FFL sell a pistol grip pump like it had a stock. I bought a pellet gun a while back from a Pamida department store that legally I needed a purchase permit for, they didn't know, and I heard laws had recently changed. Technically that toy is an unregistered pistol.
Certainly do not want effective weapons and the first to be banned then confiscated, being registered, unless needed for CPL...but if I needed that, I'd learn to avoid the situation or area. Though it could avoid trouble, used for GHB/BOB rifle storage. MI has some weird and stupid gun laws (good or bad) but regarding vehicles are just baffling. Been my experience LEOs will give you leeway if everything is not obviously illegal itself or for you to have, not stolen, and just with common sense applied. I get pulled over a lot and consented to be searched countless times. If a person could be arrested for something like having ammo and gun in the same trunk, I doubt anyone would, they may mention it, but are just happy the gun isn't chambered with a loaded mag. All that said, always better to be safe than sorry, know the law and follow when it comes to guns in particular. I've also known of two people, neither good, prosecuted for switchblades, with assisted openers they got at their local walmart.
I love Vz-58's and in some ways are better than AKs, but already got myself DFL with Kalashnikovs, all long guns across the board from shotgun to sniper rifle all AK (only thing that possibly might make me switch, a Scar 17 and XCR 6.8 sbr if ever able to get one). But Vz's are awesome and definately one to look at first for an x39 (or first overall if there ever happened to be a person not totally horny for an M4).
Get a shitton of mags and strippers and learn how to fix them if you ever needed to (plus key spare parts and a lilltle experience on an AR platform for battlefield pick up) though they're pretty durable and reliable, it's as good as anything common or not, IMO better than any 5.56 for fighting and certainly general purpose use.
Machined forged steel and weighs less than mostly plastic and aluminum comparable weapons
You ever watch that show Strikeback on Showtime? They use these all the time, great show too.
