All these links give me lots more sites to search through.....

Found this listed at Ammo to go:
http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/product_i ... 6-fmj-ammo

I think it might be marked down so much because "The box that this ammo comes in says that it is berdan primed, but I pulled the bullet on some and they were boxer primed, so I think the box is misprinted. This ammo does have a crimped and sealed primer, sealed case mouth and the case neck and shoulder is annealed."

Would this be an iffy proposition? What is the difference between the two primers (I don't reload, if that's an issue)? It's a FANTASTIC price, coming to $4.99 per 20 for military grade 5.56.

Berdan and boxer makes no difference if you're not reloading. That ammo should be perfectly fine for range use.

Would you not use this for stockpile? If not, why? (If I buy 800 rounds, it comes in a spam can).

I have found a few second-hand reviews of this stuff (ie - people on random forums in the last 3 months looking for more info after seeing a few reviews) that stated some of this was having problems with extractors chipping rims on the brass, but I didn't find any of these reviews first-hand.

And sorry for dragging this off-topic...

Another one for ammunition-to-go, but I will go to other places if they have exceptionally good deals.

Wouldn't use it for stockpile because it's SS109, but it'd work fairly well. Disclaimer: yes, I do have a lot of M855/SS109 stockpiled, but there are better options.

Are you saying XM193 is a better option? Right now my only AR-15 is a 1:9 twist, so M855 and M193 are about my best options. In the future I plan to get a BCM 1:7 twist, which would increase my bullet weight/length possibilities.

Wideners, AimSurplus, and Palmetto State Armory usually fill my needs, when they have a deal going on of course.

I used to use ammunition to go almost exclusively, but have recently switched to Lucky Gunner. I stock up on 9mm and 12 gauge 00 buckshot mostly, and they usually have pretty good prices on those.

Ammunitiontogo, AimSurplus, OMB Express (though they have a retarded policy of not selling M855 etc to non-LEOs).

SG Ammo just got two great deals in. They have either 1000 rounds of Winchester 5.56 lead free soft points, or 1000 rounds of Winchester 5.56 frangible rounds for $289. Total with shipping was $305.

I know it's sad, but I buy most of my basic plinking ammo at Wal-Mart. The Wal-Mart in Statesville sells Winchester cheaper than Wolf on a per box basis even when you buy Wolf buy the case; plus you save the shipping charges. The Winchester ammo is FMJ non-reloadable brass cases.

The cheapest ammo they have is Tula, but that is steel cased.

but per the question, I buy online usually from Sportsmans Guide.

It has been almost 2 years since I posted this question. In that time I have not won the lottery or married Katy perry. I blame all of you.

If it makes you feel any better, neither have I. :?
(I guess already being married, and not buying lottery tickets probably doesn't help, but you know... )

Ha I just re-read this thread earlier this week looking for damn 55gr wpa. I was having a heck of a time. I think the tards at arf are freaking already about ammo because the imi193 ran out. I bought the last 1k at AIM of the 55gr wpa, ended up getting another 1k of the 62gr to top off for hopeful MO milcopp. Aim, PSA, and a few of the other sites the arf'ers use were running pretty dry. My gun shop that usually carries steel was down to tula (and I hear that is bad stuff, so I didn't buy. Maybe it's ok, I dunno).

might not be a horrible idea for youz guys to start getting your class ammo together. I don't think it's ammo freak out mass pandemonium time or anything, but prices are going up a little, and the cheap stuff is getting a little harder to find.

Some sites that still had it were luckygunner (ok that's all I remember). Ammunitiontogo.com had a ton of silverbear stuff and lots of lake city and privi and tula if that's your thing, but they're several cents per round more than the woof. ymmv

www.ammunitiontogo.com is @ 30min away from my house, so I order online and run by to pick it up. It's the cheapest and easiest place to shop for me. I never buy from any other place.

I ordered from ammotogo 2 days after ordering from Aim. My ammotogo was at my house before the Aim shipped :x I like ammotogo too. They ship fast, don't fuck around, and were totally cool with me sending 1000 rounds to RegularGuy for my class ammo.
