nice photos guys. one thing i really enjoy doing while out in the woods is taking photos.

im going out this weekend again for some small game hunting and an overnighter. i hope i can get a critter for the fire. if all goes well ill have a little pig cooking over some oak. i think im gonna swap up some gear for this trip and use some stuff that been collecting dust for a while, gonna practice some skills for bushclass too. im also going to try some different foods... no MH beef stew. i hope the oranges have not been picked over. also i wonder if that big ass bee hive is still there... maybe i can pull a DC and cover myself in a blanket while holding a big smoldering clump of grass so i can collect some honey! what could go wrong?

i wanna try some bannock, anyone have a recipe they wanna share?

a couple photos from the last trip...

It was a win. :D I have some director's cutting room floor   pics and stuff that should have been added to my entries but got overlooked if anyone wants to see them. Guessing the chat thread is the best place.

I took over 150 photos during the trip so culling them was a real chore. Although I left out a lot of the stuff I should have included I'll post them up at some point.

I added some more to the heated shelter 101 part of my last "not counting" entry in the main thread. Now so more photos from those trips that didn't make the cut.

Golden brown bannock cooked to perfection.

After I used my heck knife to baton very hard black birch to the point of nearly bending it the knife still shaved. So much for anti SS claims of no edge retention and inability to sharpen.

South Crakalaki will be showing up in force next weekend for the WMBO! Hopefully, winter will be here by then (it was 70 today, WTF?) :?

It is around 6f here currently. But I can't get out this weekend due to a gig and I think the avalanche risk in the hills/mountains might be too much to risk.

Next weekend will be out - even if it is just the local woods.

We've got a SAR excersize this weekend for winter survival so if there's still enough snow we'll be doing a snow cave shelter. Been looking forward to this one for a while since our fall overnight was cancelled. (Ironically it was -20C in November and is hovering around 0C now in February very backward weather for Northern BC) But i'm in! Leaving tomorrow morning just after 6am and will return early afternoon Sunday if all goes according to plan.

Yea I am heading out as well. I think the high will be around 40 with a low of 23. Darn near Florida type weather for winter camping in my view.

Just finished building a new antenna for my ham rig, hoping I can work the 6 meter band while out on the SCWMBO, if nothing else, it will be fun trying to pull fishing line and light-gauge wire down out of the trees!

You are breaking my heart.
It got up to just over 20F and dumped 18 inches of snow in the last 12 hours.

Thank goodness the wind has dropped.
