I dont know if I would want to be part of a commune PAW. I think just keeping my family safe, isolated and fed would be my priorities.

@Ninja-Elbow - I said scribner earlier for just that reason; and I'm sure the PAW would necessitate many!
All truth passes through three stages:
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

But really. I've razed sheep, goats, cows, ducks. chickens, turkeys, geese, pigs, rabbits and done plenty of gardening....So I think I'd be best at financial planning.

We'll all be working jobs less than ideal in the PAW but a private security contractor would probably have the best benefits, you can work for whomever has the most resources.

Hmm, a job in PAW? Not really what I imagine PAW will really be like. What sort of currency will be paid in this job? What sort of PAW society will have to exist for there to be jobs?

For me, my PAW job is staying alive. That is being a living human being. Hopefully I will be able to do some farming and hunting etc and living a self sustaining life rather than working a job. But basically how I see PAW life, it will be mostly uncertain and quite dependent upon what creates the PAW. So my thinking of my PAW job is very flexible. It will be doing what ever it takes to stay alive. From bushcrafting out in the mountains, to working a farm, to helping rebuild society. I am a bit of a jack of all trades sort of guy and so have at least some skills to fit into most of varied levels of society a PAW world could be.

My ideal "job" PAW or not is crazy old mountain man. One of these days I hope to get up into a little cabin in the woods and live that dream life of the crazy old mountain man.

The context of the scenario is not a job where people are paid for their service. It's where people contribute skills to a common goal of creating a PAW society. Maybe at some point in the distant future of the PAW society will get to the point where people have paid jobs, but for the most part we're talking about a commune of sorts.
Naturally, this will not be in the immediate aftermath of the PAW when everyone is just trying to survive and keep their families safe. It would likely come later, when people realize that survival is futile if there's no real future for anyone.

Yes I figured that out, thus the rest of my post which you cut out explaining my job would be to stay alive, as that is the only reasonable response to such a question in my opinion. The reason I started my comment with the above was the concept of job vs just life is very different. Job suggests a stratified society where you can divide work to different people and have specialization. Rather than the more realistic view of PAW life where folks will be needing to be doing a lot of various things, and likely have no one job, unless they are singularly skilled at a valued necessity. Like a doctor, herbalist, midwife, blacksmith, chemist, etc. Even those with such good specific knowledge would likely still have to take part in growing food, and other farm like activities to stay alive, rather than taking a fee from others for their services.

My feeling is you would have to be adaptable to doing many different tasks in PAW. You would need to be a hunter, trapper, gatherer, farmer, handyman, watchman, and so much more. And this is even while still in a community. In PAW I think there would be generations before things stabilized enough to really have a specialized job. So to me the question of what your PAW job would be is simple, to survive.

Hunter/trapper/gatherer. So I can remain independent of society and still feed myself and my family.

Unless people still need a photographer... lol.

Ideal job:

Cook. 'cause how often do you see a skinny cook.

Most likely job:

Bait used to lure the zombies into the kill box.

Run a mobile medical clinic splitting time between towns who may not have a town doc or clinic. Also trade and barter in medical supplies for town clinics or docs.
