Tattoo shop recommendation?

Postby Readphnx » Thu Jan 05, 2012 8:57 am

Well I'm looking to get my first tattoo and I need some recommendations on where to go. My brother has used St. Louis Tattoo Company and Iron Age but I wanted to hear who you guys recommend.

TRX Tattoos on South Grand. The owner was one of the founders of ZS, the office manager is on the Board, and at least half the staff is in ZS. They're the official ZS tattie zap shop.

What kind of ink are you looking for? I could probably point you towards a particular artist there that would do that style the best.

I'm looking to get an anchor. Probably black and grey, more of an old navel wood carving look. Similar to this,

I'm still trying to decide if I want to do black and grey or color.

Good call. They do great work. I have two tattoos from there.

Funny you should mention an anchor tattoo that looks like that....

I actual went and did my consultation before I saw this. I'm driving over right now to have Mark S do the tattoo. I'll post pics when it's done.

Is he using the tattoo design he already had? I almost got that one until I saw a business card for the Heavy Anchor hanging up behind the counter.

Mark did the big fleur on my chest, you'll like his work. He has a real light hand.
