Importing is easier than you think if you're willing to pay

Importing is possible only if the vehicle is 25 years or older. See here:

Here is a good overview:

This. And importing vehicles that were previously sold in America are also very very easy to import since for the most part they already qualify. Importing vehicles never sold here is a nightmare (especially Skylines before they were blacklisted). I helped my cousin go through the entire ordeal of importing an Nissan S15 Silvia, that was for offroad use only and it still sucked. They treat it like you are trying to import a bomb or something. And they scrutinize every detail of the paperwork.

Honestly a Zeppelin would be pretty awesome except I imagine landing something like that is no fast task. As in by the time you land it and get out, there may already be a crowd formed to take you down if there was civil unrest in the area you were at.

I have an FZJ80 and a FJ60 in the driveway right now...it would be more of an addition then a stray from the righteous path of Land Cruisertude. I would love to give an old 3 door G Wagon a TLC Icon like upgrade.

If you don't mind military look, Land Rover Snatch would be great for bugging out in harsh environment, even if it doesn't handle IEDs too well...

The old Kershaw Klipper I used to run when I was on the tree-trimming crew:

It had a 55' articulated boom and you could put those three 24" blades just a couple inches off of the ground like a weed-whacker and sweep back-&-forth in a 180 degree arc.

You know it was actually constructed for Helium, right? Hydrogen was used because the German Army used airships as bombers in WWI, and the US was thus reluctant to sell any Helium to Germany. So... the Hindenburg could have been awesome with the right gas.

Ford F-250 with T8 level protection (Good to multiple AP rounds)

Great armor protection without the "I'm driving a SWAT van" look. I would probably get a cap for it however as opposed to open bed space.

Pack animals are a great BOV!
Yep I would like a couple horses, a mule or two, and a few goats too.

I don't know why so many people want vehicles that need gas spare parts etc. Horses, goats, llama, mules, etc make much better BOV's as they can graze for "fuel", have personalities to keep you company, and can become food if ever needed in emergency.

Pack GOATS? how cool is that - they could clear my lot (alders, blackberry bushes, WEEDS) and hall my gear. Brilliant!
so how much can a goat carry - and how many would you need - one to carry food for the other how many?
I CAN do it. Doesn't mean I should, or will.

Well, the point of this thread is for vehicles. You do have a point, because they are great for the use of movement, but look at it this way, as they have their ups and downs. The Cons of both are very similar in nature; both reqire 'maintnance', 'feeding', and 'care' in terms of gas/food, broken radiator hose/broken leg, ect.

Vehicles
-FAST Transportation/Evacuation out of an area
-Provide large load-carrying ability
-Provide protection against numerous things
-Dont get 'tired'
-Can bug-out without attention (An unban dweller cannot bugout on horseback, especially if it was for a non TEOTWAWKI event)
-Downside of fuel concerns

Animals
-Not a "fast transport" option unless it's through dense woodland that a vehicle cannot move
-Limited load carrying ability, unless you have a cart or multiple animals
-No protection factor
-Can be scared by animal/person
-Abnormal unless your in a very rural area
-Hard to be stealthy under some circumstances

While either can be used successfully in their own scenarios, for 99% of the time, unless it's TEOTWAWKI, a vehicle will be better suited to than an animal. In a TEOTWAWKI scenario, animals will be extremely important for transportation, but they will still not be the end all.

That being said, I'd love to have a goat or horse, If I knew how to care for it and lived in the country.

Now, back to the topic, sorry for the short derail.

Honestly, I'd love to have a multifuel Deuce, and that's a pretty attainable goal I figure. Start from scratch with a 12v conversion if possible.
