Shrine of the Mall Ninja

Postby priven » Fri Nov 25, 2011 3:56 pm

Was going to dump this in OT but due to context thought it may be more appropriate here.

Stumbled across this today, hope you enjoy...

Im not refined enough or trained extensively enough to have the perspective needed to see the "mallninja" in full light.

But that is some funny shit.

well i'm not a professional in firearm (well not as much as i want myself to be) but man...........that guy made me laugh so much. even if i'm not aware of all gun law in USA i know he was talking sh*** and 98% of what he wanted is illegal to carry even if he is a *armed mall guard* which don't exist. i think the most armed mall guard i seen had a pair of handcuff and a tactical baton and he was working for Garda. (a local security compagny) i think the biggest thing a security guard can have around is a flashlight because you need a specific course to use and a specific licence to carry a tactical collapsible baton.

I've always felt really sorry for TerryGecko, who innocently picked a name reminiscent of Gecko45 when he signed on to the board, and immediately had to defend his preference for katanas. Even though TerryGecko is nothing close to a mall ninja and nothing at all like the katana fanboys that made the sword an object of derision in the weapons section - he in fact trains pretty diligently and conscientiously with firearms and some esoteric fencing style or other - the combination of katana + Gecko was like a red flag to a bull to ZS rank and file. He's been a fun and informative contributor to this forum, but he never lost the slightly embattled posture he was forced to adopt when he first signed on. His love of the 5.7 didn't help - it's like he hit the troll trifecta. Glad he's still around after all that!

As for the actual Geck45, I thought he was a brilliant troll, and a scathing satirist of gun owners and gun culture. I thought of Gecko45 watching "Observe and Report" - Seth Rogen's character seemed to capture the sad essence of Gecko45's personality.

We shall never forget these silent guardians of Orange Juilius, Sbarro Pizza and American Eagle. Our ass-virginity will always remain intact because of their selflessness. Makes me regret my inferior Army service and sign up at the nearest outlet mall.

I have heard theories that geko45 was really the asshole that owned special weapons. I disliked that man intensly as I worked in a gun store and had to call him whenever an angry customer brought in one of his nonfunctoning weapons. I got through to him once. It was not a plesant conversation. He should have sold those things as dummy guns and saved himself the cost of an ffl. I mean, if you put a .22 round into a vice and hit it with a hammer it will fire one out of three times. Yet, you don't have to have an ffl to sell vices.
Pacifism is just self righteous complicity.

Each state in the US has different licensing rules, with some being very strict and other not so much. As for armed guards I know of an IHOP that has a uniformed armed guard at night. There are some guards that have a whole police style bat belt complete with baton, taser, mace, and gun.

And you state that without the slightest hint towards his threads.

I saw that a while ago. It always gets me at "I will be finished with my training (in Ninjutsu) in 8 months ...".
