I would like to bring in a voice from the northern side..I am interested and joined a week or two ago so waiting for full mebership. I live in Hinckley 1/2 way between Mpls. and Duluth. I am only down towards the twins when my brewing supplies get low....

Did you do paypal? I don't have it, so I had to get a money order. Took about a week before I could get to my bank before they closed to get one.

Did you guys have a second meeting set up?
I know i missed the first one, but I've been around awhile and have several buddies in St Louis who i can call and harass if you guys need help with this whole chapter thing.
I'm in St Cloud till December, My wife and I just bought a house in Bloomington, I'm still gone 4months out of every year for Army land stuff, but I'm always somewhat around. I'm gone from Jan to June of 2012 but I'll be whatever help i can with the endeavor.

I also kind of work at Element. True story.

Any other Ham in the thread yet?

No shit? I've stopped thru there a few times on my way up hunting. Think I might get one of the Noveske Lowers on my way up tomorrow. Do those come with aftermarket triggers, or the Noveske factory types?

I think the store just has stripped noveskes right now. I've got my kid full time and 18 credits this semester so I haven't worked since September. The guy who owns the store is by far one of the most genuinely awesome people on earth.
I might know who you, I remember most people. Like i said I haven't been around much since the summer, I went to the SHTF shoot with the rest of the Element guys but other than that I've been vacant in SCSU land.

HAM, did someone mention HAM?! Mr. NoAm & I got our licenses a couple of weeks ago.
We may have to start a ZS conference on echolink!

I hope all is going well. I know Minnesota is a bit stretched out, like several of our States. Don't forget we can have multiple chapters in a State, we just have to try and keep them about 2 hours apart from each other.

HA!

Being on a tech ticket in the cities is actually not bad at all, there are so many 2m repeaters. I'm up in St Cloud for the next 30 days but I has some methods of getting a signal down to you guys.

Also Radio City Inc is a phenom shop. I got my 817 refurb there for 400 and some change a couple of years ago.

Should we try for a January-type meeting?

Could get tricky with the holidays and such. Any interest in a coffee shop stop? Maybe get a meeting room at a Caribou, and just chill for most of the day, peeps can come and go as needed, something like that...

Personally, I work a fairly odd schedule, and I get mine 6 weeks at a time, so getting a specific weekend off is tough without a LOT of notice. But I'm definitely willing to work around that and get this thing going.

ETA: still waiting on my membership to go through....?

Anyone familiar with Hoffy's (sp?) shooting supplies in Woodbury? I found their info from an online FFL locator, called 'em, and they say they do transfers for $20. That's by far the cheapest I've found in the cities.

Out of those two, Eagan is most do-able for me. I'd had the impression from previous posts that the north burbs were better, as we may get some from the 10/94 corridor. Of course, there's the Albert Lea, Rochester folks....

Of course, being in Roseville, I gotta throw that out as an option. Middle of the interstate ring, easy enough for the out-of-towners to navigate, equal for those North and South of the Cities, etc etc. Realistically, as long as it's not Eden Prairie, anything within the interstate ring is G2G for me. I hate going to Eden Prairie. And NOT because that evil ship that's parked off of 494.

How about MOA? Trying to think more of those not from the cities trying to find where they are going....

I don't think most will be able to meet up before January. I am open the first two weeks of December. I would be down for a coffee shop meet up. I am completely free after x-mas though. Really what we need to do is get a small core group together to get the membership official and then worry about the general membership of everyone in the state.

EDIT: I just finished applying for my membership. I should be approved in a few days.

Agreed. I am open the weekend of the 10th/11th, but that's it until January.

I applied in October..... If you get your first, Ima be mad. :gonk:
