I hope not. I think it's more of a "show off your cool gear" thread.

Can I just post a pic of me with my SHTF stuff on, or do I have to wear the camo and have 30 pouches hanging off of me to meet the criteria of "mall ninja"? I'm all about keeping it simple and looking like everyone else, so camo and a bunch of pouches aren't involved.

I didn't get one of me wearing it, but here's all my SHTF stuff: an AR-15 (Olympic Arms lower & RRA upper) and a second-gen Glock 19 (finger grooves aren't my thing).

I have a ton of 5.11 gear, so while playing through Resident Evil 4, I was like, "Hey, It wouldn't be too hard to make an outfit to look like Leon Kennedy that is as functional as it is geeky."

One really tight shirt later and voila:

Image

Image

I photoshopped the pics into creepy backgrounds in order to give the illusion that those pictures weren't taken in my living room, LoL. I wish they were of a bigger resolution, but cool background images are slim pickings.

Equipment is:
5.11 Muscle Mapping Shirt (Black)
5.11 Tactical Pants (Navy)
5.11 HRT Boots (Black...Very nice)
5.11 Operator's Belt
$5 pair of motorcycle gloves that I bought at a fair
Galco Miami Classic Shoulder Holster (Tan)
Eagle Industries SAS MKV Holster
Uncle Mike's Double Magazine Case
SOG SEAL 2000 Knife
H&K USP Compact .40 S&W (in the thigh holster)
SIG P228 (in the shoulder holster)

Boy I've really gone off the deep end.

But there is actually a reasoning behind all of this. I just wanted to be able to carry two separate pistols. (Not for John Woo type stuff. Both of them are accessible via the right hand.) My reasoning is this: During a zombie invasion you might not always be able to choose what ammo you come across. And you're going to eventually run out of whatever ammo you have stockpiled. However, since .40 is the most popular police round and 9mm is the standard military round, they'll probably be the rounds that you'll most easily be able to find. I think it's a decent way to carry two handguns. Another would be a tac vest with a cross draw attachment, so we'll see.

I was just out for a hike with friends I visited in the (not so)great state of california. We were out for a hike in a populated area, but I did have my BOB in the car w/kukri and access to a SKS w/100 rds of ammo. But this is the little "bug out crew" with me being "tactically" dressed, and my friend being semi, and his gf wearing stuff so over priced that I could have my Land Cruiser for the price of her jeans :?

Love the superman sheild.

Up UP AND WAY!!!!
Zoë: Preacher, don't the Bible have some pretty specific things to say about killing?
Book: Quite specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

Urban Dictionary defines it as "A term used in forums to mean an unexperienced and enthusiastic weapon(usually a firearm)owner who pretends to be a seasoned operator. The phrase came about as a result of an over the top character in a famous satirical thread."
