Some things I have (re)learned

Street signs are fucking tough, a jigsaw is NOT the way to attempt to cut them, nor using snips

Image
By herrsckitzo at 2011-07-27

All nice and pretty, except for I just BARELY ran out of room, only getting 15 of the 16 panels I needed, this is ok though, I was able to modify it a bit.

And this is why using the jigsaw sucks, luckily this thing was never meant to be pretty, but if I was doing this for real I'd need A) A work bench and B) proper tools, I took a spill off my makeshift table while cutting, I got really lucky, my shin caught the non cut edge of the sign, but like a dumbass I grabbed the rather hot blade while face planting, but got un cut and un burned.

I'ts almost 9pm, so decided to stop being an asshole and using power tools.

I did find a bit of leather though so I can work on the armor.

Dude that is not a Jig Saw but I had one that would have made that easier! Still looking cool. Keep at it.

Well most people call it a saw-s-all. Both are recipricating saws just one is vertical and one is horizontal.

It definitely will hang better using the leather than just the cord. Looking good.

What I would have liked to use, backed with wood:

I think it looks awesome, however I woulda dont it opposite of how you have, or at least scuff up the paint a lot.

I've popped a few rivets that I didn't seat correctly, and have to fine tune it a bit more, but here is the mostly finished upper part.

Ahh, a jigsaw would make this a lot easier, tried a cicluar saw...Im still bleeding in spots from it shooting chunks of hot steel at me  cut a nice straight line though.

Gun Nut, you mind bringing that jigsaw to the meeting Saturday?

Sure I have two. In fact you can have one as they identical. I'll even bring some fuel line.

Let me see if I can speak around this foot. I do have a second one but it is missing the bit holder. It is useless with out it. Let me see if I can find one on Ebay then you can have the thing. Sorry man. I'll still bring the first one.

Don't worry about the piece, I just need to borrow it for a day or so to cut the metal, will it take the blade from the sawzall? Bought one just to cut metal and such.

Lookin' awesome!

Got to love the GSD. The Corgi is in the background of one of those pics thinking, "I don't know what's going on, but I'm not getting near the thing..."

This year at home :( I just couldn't afford the tickets and trip as I'm still getting settled getting out of the military, were planning on next year though.

Though if you go to Wasteland Weekend, you should be able to find us there.
