Antenna is longwire cut for 1/2wave at 160meters

Most of this stuff is not currently hooked up and we have been moving into our bugout location. ..

O, also have a linear amp (100w ?) for my CB (ONLY FOR USE UNDER EMERGENCY CONDITIONS) (also not hooked up) and several FRS handhelds

Desperately trying to set up a station here in Malaysia so I thought I'd stick my details down anyway, at least you can have a record since it *will* be set up someday! Here goes:

Grid: Since my station is not set up, I will give you the grid for my city: 3°8′51″N 101°41′36″E

Interest: everything But really I'd like to set up a proper fixed station and use it to help coordinate disaster efforts such as floods around the area as the communication systems out in the countryside are terrible.

License: None, the licensing agency does not respond to email etc but many stations still operate and I should be able to get a full class A license in the near future via them. Worst case scenario is getting a license in another country and transferring it.

Equipment: Looking to get a proper base station and antenna but it will not be operational for at least 8 months when I move house (stuck on the ground floor of a condo biulding right now). If someone could help with equipment that would be great, I have some idea of what I am doing.

Please do contact me for more details, I'd be very interested in setting up over here and since it'c going to happen anyway, may as well incorporated ZS into it and make full use of your experience.

P.S. I'm sorry to bring this up, but I seem to recall that repeaters on CB or FRS frequencies are illegal under 47CFR (FCC Regs) Part 97.

I've been looking at checking out the ARES classes and RACES classes,, All emergency response training is good. Not having to use the training is even better.

Getting use to the 2meter repeaters and 70cm also. Playing just a little on 40 80 and 160 meters to see what they can do and loving it!
