[quote="mystic_1I really like the looks of this sling. It may just be a trick of the photographs, but it looks to me like it tapers smoothly from the wide end to the narrower end. How was this done?
mystic_1[/quote]

Sorry I missed your question earlier. It starts out with 6 strands of paracord as a wide soloman bar. I then dropped 2 of the strands of paracord out and finished it as a standard cobra. Basically its two cobra knots side by side, and then fades into one.

Stormdrane's blog has a lot of excellent paracord info and plenty of links for anything he doesn't personally cover. Its where I get all my pc info.

Thanks for the info! I've been toying with the idea of making a paracord sling for some time now, your pictures are great motivation.

I thought this was a great way to kill time, so.
Used my phone so the quality is bad.

OK Napom, back away from the Para Cord roll and keep your hands where we can see them. Just don't use those tools around your engine or other heavy machinery brother. They look very cool but you may loose a limb. Well done none the less!

Edit to add the two larger adjustable wrenches are great and I take back the "don't use around" comment on them.

They work for you because they're directly linking to your Mail.Google.Com SID cached login. You will want to host your pictures anywhere other than your email inbox for them to show up. Photobucket, Flickr, ImgUR, etc.

Was feeling bored last night so I cobbled this together. It's composed of a single continuous 12' length of 550 cord. Cork core for the fist.

And this is a 2 point convertible sling I made, I don't actually use it on my AMD, originally it was for my .22 I just don't happen to have a pic of it on my .22.

The previous paracord hatband, that I posted, started off as a long two bight turks head knot, but I only did that knot halfway, before coiling the rest of the cord around the hat, underneath the crossings.

This one is a two bight turks head knot, in an open pattern with more crossings showing, done with a 30 foot long length of paracord, doubled up in a single pass, worked around the hat's branch loops. There was just enough cord to work under the knots and around the hat one time. Any more than 30 feet may get a bit bulky, but there was still room for more. YMMV :toxic:

ImageI had some cord lying around from some bracelets I made for people at work (I tell them if they want me to make them one they have to buy what ever colors they want and I get to keep what's left over). Anyway it's just o.d. green and black, king cobra stitched together to make it easier to carry in the Jeep, and in a pinch can be used to beat children and small animals.Image

Just curious, but did yo use any other hardwear for the bracelet? The reason I ask is I've thought the samething for my daughter, but wasn't sure of how safe it would be with a clasp. I'd planned on a knot and loop closure versus a clasp, button, etc.

You can use a knot/loop, button/loop, bead/loop, coin/loop, fixed loop, side release buckle, shackle, etc... There are some small 'break-away' side release buckles that are made for cat collars, and will pull apart with some pressure, for the safety conscious with making paracord bracelets for small children...

This is a somewhat simple(or not) adjustable/extendable paracord wrist lanyard. At first, it looks like a couple of two strand lanyard knots finished with a scaffold knot/multiple overhand sliding knot, but instead are a couple of Celtic Button Knots with the adjustable loop cord going through the center of them, so the knots are tied in place along a single length of paracord, on opposite sides of the loop, hard to explain, but it works...
