Don't I wish.

You'd probably have to build one at this point.

You could also go in a slightly different direction: The hybrid airplane/blimp (aka dynalifter)

I don't call that a blimp; I call that pimp.

You oughta check out the full sized model. You could have a flying town up there just about.

He was....
Turns out there was some kind of smuggling incident in the past, luckily the authorities came and restored proper law and order to the fine subjects of cloud city...
Currently Mr Williams is at large and considered highly dangerous, known associates include a paranoid squid, a large eared rodent like creature, what can only be described as a walking carpet, and some average dude who wears a vest constantly, possibly a wall mart employee.

I'd go for a Unimog, with a camper-bed and roof-rack, or one with a shooting platform. Or, one of the several older Suburbans you see in south Texas around hunting season-with a shooting platform. What ever I'd get, I'd get the windows REAL secure. I'd probably make an exo-cage, with window cages-made from tubing, not expanded metal/mesh. A diesel engine setup to run on veggie oil or diesel would be the bee's knees!! :) In the mean time, I'll drive my Accord, and my friend (ally) can poke through the sunroof and take out zom's

Dead Reckoning from Land of the Dead looks pretty well-made (in the movie, real life who knows)

Or, pretty much any vehicle made by this company. It's funny, I live not too far from the facility that makes them. Make sure your PC likes PDFs before clicking the link.

m1117 ASV (armoured secuirty vechile)
These vechiles can withstand just about anything. but when the do go up in flames they burn. lots of hydrylic fluid. I have seen them do 70 mph. They also have two gas tanks. they come with an MOD 2 and a MK19. It has MTS where you can from inside adjust the tire pressure. I used one during my first deployment to iraq. There isnt much for zombies to hang onto as you are moving either. The typical mission profile of an ASV involves 50% primary roads, 30% secondary roads, and 20% cross-country conditions. Front and rear independent suspension provides smooth highway speeds of up to 60 mph (97 km/h), while it is still capable of fording 5-foot (1.5 m) depths of water, climbing gradients of 60%, and overcoming obstacles of five feet. ASVs in Iraq have withstood several IED attacks, some vehicles multiple times. One ASV returned 28 miles (45 km) after an IED blew out all four tires.
opertional range 440 miles @ 40 mph

Isn't that just a newer version of a Caddilac Gage V150 commando, they've been making them since the Vietnam era.

BTW, I have always wanted one of them, I always wanted the Mortar variant, I figured I could mate a pop top tent to the roof and have the ultimate RV. :D

No need for mortars the mk19 is a fully automatic 40mm gernade launcher. I have seen one level a house. short story in iraq get hit with complex attack IED and small arms fire. We had apaches flying around any way convoy commander asked them not to engage which they didnt but told us how to adjust our fire to bring building to rubble.

I don't want the mortar, just the hatchway, and the extra room. I understand the advantage of using one in a combat situation, but I'm thinking of a ZPAW environment. In that situation, I just have this image in my head of a camper top so that I can stand in it and walk around a little bit.

But things I like, most people think are kinda weird.... :D

I'd go with my ultimate goal for a BOV.

Hägglunds BV206(Though I'm aiming for the 208)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHeF5n0s09c

Just drive through some swamps, rivers and deep snow and leave the Z's behind.

I'm thinking a Unimog or similar multi-fuel vehicle. Not too big, will go damn near anywhere and with one of these mounted as a just in case.:

However, Unimogs are great vehicles.

Seen this thread so many times... Still fun.

Land based, for a stand alone vehicle I've always been partial to the Maximog http://www.maximog.com
Image

The trailer behind it is actually a large living space with multiple pull outs.

However, if I had to pick only one BOV (besides Voltron), I'd choose something from Unicat http://www.unicatamericas.com/photos.html
It's a BOV.... It's a BOL.
Image
Image

Of course, I'd NEVER bug out in a car/truck. I've seen highways during rush hour. Here's my real BOV of choice:
Image
It lives in the marina near me (you can actually see my place in the background) and has been up for sale for at least a year or two. If the zombpocalypse was coming, I'd rent it for week and bring it back LATE. :D

However, Unimogs are great vehicles.

I've been in love with them since the first time I saw them in action.
